The Field Technology Services organization provides the delivery, installation, and support services for the technology solutions being used every day to run and grow our businesses. This Services organization is part of a larger organization whose collective responsibility is to ensure strategic business capabilities are being designed, engineered, delivered and supported across our 10,000 global offices.

The Department Manager is responsible for setting the overall direction, vision, and strategic plan for an entire IT function or development group. He or she develops policies, standards, and procedures to enable the organization’s sustained success and creates a collaborative team that supports a diverse environment. The Department Manager role is responsible for people management activities including career planning/support, training, interviewing, hiring, performance management and performance and salary reviews.

This Department Manager will develop and lead the execution of strategic, organizational, and operational plans to establish and oversee the Field Technology Vendor and Services Management function. The customers of these services are the 100,000 Enterprise Holdings employees that rely on the technology capabilities to serve our end customers. You will partner extensively across internal IT and vendor teams to maximize the potential of vendor strategies, contracted agreements, and internal resource allocation with the primary goal of enabling excellent, efficient technology support and services. You will establish standards and procedures for evaluating technology services and will oversee the review of performance and return-on-investment metrics and lead the initiation of contract or process modifications as appropriate.

This is a new organizational function, providing an exciting opportunity for an experienced, servant leader with passion for customer service and organizational development. The ideal candidate will have proven experience with vendor, contract, and services strategies and management; the drive to establish and evolve a new team and organizational function; the innate ability to know when to stay vs. shift courses and the persistence to ensure results.

Other responsibilities of the role will include:

  • Develop and manage team(s) through full employment cycle including performance management, and career development; build an effective leadership bench and lead others in doing the same.

  • Develop and implement a vendor strategy, including process and tools integration models.

  • Implement, communicate, and enforce vendor and services management-specific processes and controls. Partner with global IT leaders to establish consistency.

  • Establish understanding of customers’ needs and challenges and set priorities and metrics accordingly.

  • Oversee structured services performance assessments and resulting recommendations and actions. Ensure optimized value of services agreements.

  • Oversee contract changes and negotiations, involving senior leadership as appropriate.

  • Establish strong relationships with Field Technology leaders to ensure satisfaction with delivered services, address concerns, and identify efficiency opportunities.

  • Provide training, mentoring, and support to teams and managers in vendor management best practices.

  • Develop relationships with vendor partners that enable productive problem-solving and mutually-beneficial outcomes.

  • Represent team in conversations and presentations to senior and executive leadership and stakeholders.

  • Collaborate with IT and Corporate procurement and supply management leaders to understand global sourcing strategies, vendor performance management tools and capabilities, and corporate procedural guidelines and policies.

  • Partner with IT Information Security Office and Corporate Legal to ensure Services agreements comply with security and legal standards, policies, and regulations.

  • Stay current on latest vendor management best practices.

Required:

  • 8+ years of vendor and services management experience; including services contract development and negotiation experience; either as ‘vendor’ or ‘customer’.

  • 8+ years of experience in organizational planning and leadership, team, and individualized coaching and development.

  • Strong background in managing quality via meaningful, actionable services metrics that enabled improved outcomes and optimized contractual value.

  • Proven experience with leading through ambiguity to set and execute strategic direction.

  • Strong executive presentation, negotiation, and sales skills.

  • Demonstrable self-awareness of personal strengths and development opportunities.

  • Experience leading across functions and diverse, global teams.

  • Awareness of and commitment to incorporating security into all decisions and daily job responsibilities.

Preferred:

  • Bachelor's degree strongly preferred; MBA preferred.

  • Vendor Management and/or IT Services Management related training or certification.

  • Participation in industry peer groups or associations; demonstrated interest in industry advancement and best practices.
