Verizon Principle Consultant – SOC Quality Assurance Lead in Weldon Spring, Missouri

What you’ll be doing...

As a key member of the Verizon Enterprise Security Operations Center (SOC) Services team, the SOC Services Quality Assurance (QA) Lead will be responsible for assessing and ensuring the quality of SOC Solution Engagements in their region at each step: Design, implementation, delivery, improvement (lessons learned).

The role requires the following primary skills: knowledge of business tools, basic technology understanding, process understanding, and cyber security concepts.

The SOC Services QA Lead will…

  • Assist in Development of templates for the Quality Assurance Process

  • Maintain, and SharePoint sites for their Region

  • Research current products and tailoring options

  • Develop artifacts for designs and proposals including flow diagrams, Visio, and PowerPoint

  • Document process descriptions

  • Assist in development of tools/databases for tracking projects, phases, issues, needs, and trends

  • Assist in the development of tactical and strategic performance metrics

  • Gather, analyze, understand and apply contextual and business information supporting the SOC services design of the Customer engagement within assigned responsibilities

  • Where assigned, ensure proactive and actionable notifications and deliverables are provided to Team Management within specified timeframes and reported as completed by due date

  • When assigned, liaise and cultivate relationships with Verizon stakeholders to help identify where reset Customer expectations may be appropriate and convey concerns to Team Management

  • Meet regularly with Verizon Product Managers and Delivery, Implementation, and Design Stakeholders to understand current products and constraints

  • Update artifacts and templates to reflect changes in a timely manner

  • Meet regularly with Verizon Product Managers and Delivery, Implementation, and Design Stakeholders to discuss lessons learned and develop plans for corrective action

  • Prepare digestible, actionable and timely information for Team Management in support of assigned responsibilities including but not limited to, executive summaries, detailed design/progress reports, slide decks, and presentations

  • Participate in meetings where applicable with other Verizon Security Stakeholders, Sales teams, and Contract Governance management to review on-going issues, interaction points, activities and challenges in the SOC design and delivery space.

The selected candidate should have the ability to research, consolidate and report on assigned topics in the design, implementation, and delivery space, including good problem definition and solution skills. A strong ability to learn new technologies and methodologies is required.

What we’re looking for...

You’ll need to have…

  • Bachelor's degree in a technology process related area of study or related experience

  • Experience working 7 to 10 years in a QA and/or process management environment

  • Security related Major is desired, but some course study in Risk or Security is required

  • Industry security certification(s) such as CISSP, SANS, CISA, or CISM required

  • Experience with MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Access, and Excel) or equivalent GSuite products
