IBM Watson Health - Solution Architect in St Louis, Missouri

Job Description

The Solution Architect is responsible for designing solutions to customer specifications as well as contributing to the core development of common functionality across the government division. The individual is expected to work with sales and actively participate in multi-disciplinary solution design sessions including creating architecture diagrams and writing technical sections of proposals. The solution architect is also responsible for making build/buy/partner decisions and interacting with vendors to conduct proof of concepts and evaluate tools.

The successful candidate will need an in-depth understanding of industry leading data analytics platforms relevant to the healthcare space from a design, development and implementation perspective. The candidate will be able to demonstrate knowledge of all aspects of key technology platforms, database, security and business intelligence software platforms, management and automation tools, analytics, and operational components of large scale data warehousing and business intelligence solutions.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Work with diverse team to design, diagram and write to technical solutions in proposals

  • Participate in meetings with customers as a technical SME

  • Conduct proof of concepts and evaluate tools with vendors

  • Work with data center and infrastructure teams to manage hardware and software resources

  • Work with analytical consultants and business analysts to determine how various requirements will be met

  • Present solution during orals presentations

  • Partner with services team to transition work from sales to implementation phase

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

  • 5+ years of IT experience

  • 2+ years of experience within healthcare

  • Experience with one or more BI/DW applications (e.g., Cognos, Business Objects)

  • Experience delivering large scale projects

  • Experience with one or more RDBMS (Oracle, Teradata, DB2)

  • Experience with Systems Configuration, including HW/SW setup

  • Demonstrated success in delivering enterprise level software

  • Demonstrated ability to interact with cross functional workgroups

  • Ability to adapt and flourish in a fast-paced business environment

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

Preferred Tech and Prof Experience

  • Experience with medicaid data and customers

  • Experience with multiple data modeling techniques (Normalization, Dimensional, OLAP)

  • Cognitive and AI background highly desired

  • Experience with analytics software (SPSS, Python, R)

  • ETL Application experience (InfoSphere preferred)

  • Experience with Hadoop and big data solutions

  • Experience with cloud based systems

  • Data Science degree helpful
