Washington University of St. Louis Systems Analyst - Facilities - Administration - 52213 in St. Louis, Missouri

Job Type/Schedule This position is full-time and works approximately 37.5 hours per week. May need to work additional hours to meet deadlines as necessary. Department Name/Job Location This position is in the Department of Facilities - Administration. The work is normally performed in the offices located in the Millbrook Building. There will be activities that require trips to remote Facilities offices both on and off Danforth campus. Essential Functions POSITION SUMMARY: Through strong knowledge of the organization’s technology infrastructure and specific software applications, helps the business achieve its goals. Performs tasks necessary to understand the system requirements, assessing the impact, capturing, analyzing, documenting and managing requirements. Supporting the communication and delivery of those requirements with relevant parties. PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Analysis, Design, Execution * Implements strategies for gathering, reviewing and analyzing system requirements. * Analyzes each system and develops business requirements. * Documents requirements, establishes scope and objectives and determines strategy for evaluating requirements implementation and validation in systems to achieve business goals. * Translates and simplifies requirements for appropriate use; performs gap analysis between how we are using the system and how we could be using the system. * Prioritizes requirements working with university partners and creates conceptual prototypes and mock-ups. * Performs quality assurance on established processes by utilizing performance metrics and data analysis. This can be done through KPI’s, reports, or other analytic tools. 2. Planning * Prepares technology plan working with university partners. * Collaborates with business owners to plan approach to system upgrades/changes, implementation timelines, and business goals. * Coordinates planning activities to meet objectives and timelines of overall program or project; works with WUIT and other vendors to forecast required time and resources. 3. Leadership * Guides system owners on technology enhancements. * Serves as technical lead when collaborating with WUIT to implement the technology plan. 4. Measurement * Develops metrics to measure solution(s) performance. * Provides status reports as needed. 5. Perform other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology or related discipline plus two years of relevant experience analyzing system processes and data, or equivalent combination of experience, certification and education. Preferred Qualifications * Knowledge of ESRI’s suite of production and map production (both digital and paper). * Knowledge of Maximo, PMWeb and building automation controls. * Programing skills in SQL, JAVA, or Python. * ESRI Certifications. * Familiarity with testing techniques and software. * Prior experience in higher education or facilities environments a plus. * Strong leadership skills, customer service attitude, ability to work to deadlines, works well independently and with a team, strong communication skills. * Demonstrated understanding of system analyst tools and techniques; demonstrated proficiency using MS Office and Visio tools. Salary Range The hiring range for this position is $52,942 - $68,815 annually.
