Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Install, configure, upgrade, and maintain required components of infrastructure operations. Develop and maintain technical process and procedure documentation, both wiki-style and formal, including contingency operations. Research, document, and implement new technology solutions. Ensure application availability by monitoring hardware and software capacity and function. Monitor and respond appropriately to incidents, outages, and alerts, escalating issues as needed. Maintain scripts used for reporting, monitoring and analysis. Add, delete and change privileges for users in various applications as well as investigate and resolve user access issues. Plan, implement and document technical change requests using the Remedy system. Implement necessary patches, hotfixes, service packs, cumulative updates, and upgrades to meet security compliance and maintain application integrity. Work extended hours as necessary to maintain existing or implement new technology with minimal customer impact. Participate in on-call activities. Travel occasionally – up to 5% the time. Handle other duties as assigned.


7-10 years relevant experience. Extensive knowledge of enterprise computer systems, including VMWare vSphere / ESX, SAN, enterprise backup solutions, LAN/WAN, server hardware, and storage appliances. Extensive knowledge of operational technologies, including Microsoft Active Directory, Group Policy, print server, encryption, file/share permissions, common Ports, DNS, DHCP and WINS. Extensive experience with Windows Server 2008/2012 management. Proficient administration and troubleshooting of both basic and complex functions related to datacenter management, software configuration, and performance management. Basic knowledge of relational and multidimensional database management systems, such as Microsoft SQL, MySQL, and PostgreSQL. Working knowledge of scripting products, such as Visual Basic Scripting, DOS / Windows command scripts, SQL scripts, bash, and PowerShell. Basic knowledge of incident and change management systems, such as BMC Remedy and Atlassian JIRA. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and other productivity products. Bachelor’s degree or commensurate experience.
