IBM Sr. Solutions Architect - Connected Solutions in St Louis, Missouri
As an IBM Application Architect, you directly help clients transform their business and solve complex problems. You will define the scope and vision for projects that deliver customized solutions using your knowledge of IBM platforms. You are a technical leader, serving as a liaison among business partners, technical resources, and project stakeholders.
Your Role and Responsibilities
The Connected Solutions Consultant is responsible for defining client's business requirements and translating them into specific system, application or process designs. This includes working with client personnel and executives to identify functional requirements and subsequently working with and leading others in the identification, justification and design of the client's solution. This includes a wide range of design activities from requirements analysis through systems, application and/or process design specification. As a Connected Solutions Consultant, you will be expected to have hands-on technical and business skills of IBM's Intelligent, Connected Solutions and other competing or complementary IoT products and technologies and experience with successfully implementing IoT solutions, across multiple industries, particularly manufacturing.
Create, contribute and present IBM's Intelligent Connected Operations (ICO) Strategy and Industry Point of View to CXO level client executives
Lead the requirements determination, design and development work of ICO solutions for clients
Lead and support teams to deliver ICO services engagements for clients
Develop use cases, requirements, business and technical design documents and ICO business cases and ROI models
Contribute to Request for Proposals (RFP) and Statements of Work (SOW)
Educate internal IBM Partners and Associates on IBM's ICO Strategy and Capabilities
Work with IoT Device and Gateway partners to integrate their capabilities into IBM's solutions, and help identify the correct partner based on business requirements
The successful candidate will have knowledge of the IoT ecosystem. The candidate will have the ability to manage engagements and provide leadership in the execution of engagements. In addition, successful candidates will have experience building client relationships, developing business cases and ability to garner immediate respect and credibility through clear and concise communication. Experience in the Industrial and Distribution markets is preferred.
In this role you will interact directly with clients and are required to travel globally. Dallas, TX and Atlanta, GA are preferred locations but all locations considered.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise
At least 3 years of experience associated with projects applying advanced analytics / machine learning techniques in a consulting environment
At least 3 years of experience with IoT / Machine to Machine (M2M) solutions, demonstrating extensive knowledge of the IoT / M2M market and ecosystems with a focus on industry solutions
Experience leading teams responsible for successfully delivering IoT solutions for clients including leading workshops to define business requirements
Experience with Agile development processes and methodologies
Experience developing client business cases and ROI models for adoption of IoT solutions
Experience with a range of IoT Solutions and Use Cases, with a focus on understanding the transformative business value those solutions can bring to organizations
Experience with large scale system design and awareness of the different technologies and components that compromise an end-to-end connected solution, such as Bug Data, User Interface, IoT Platforms
Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise
At least 5 years of experience demonstrating presentation skills and the ability to communicate with client management and executives
At least 4 years of experience with IoT/Machine to Machine (M2M) solutions and demonstrating extensive knowledge of the IoT/M2M market and ecosystems with a focus on industry solutions
Experience within the Industrial and Distribution markets
Knowledge of IoT protocols such as OPC, Modbus, MQTT, etc
Knowledge of IoT connectivity techniques, such as cellular, short or long range wireless protocols
Experience estimating effort (time and cost) based on a set of business requirements
