Position Summary

Energizer Marketing Specialist partners with Energizer attorneys and business stakeholders on marketing & advertising issues, with an emphasis on marketing and advertising reviews of all types of customer and consumer-facing materials. Energizer is looking for an independent individual with strong critical thinking and analytical skills. This position reports in to the Assistant General Counsel, Commercial, Marketing, and Intellectual Property, and is based in St. Louis, Missouri.


  • Primary independent accountability for reviewing all types of consumer and customer-facing marketing and advertising materials, including packaging, with direct interaction with regulatory and marketing departments; exercise independent judgment to identify and analyze legal issues related to marketing advertising materials

  • Act as the primary point of contact for addressing marketing and advertising questions and issues

  • Use matter and document management systems and maintain matters, current status updates, and electronic files

  • Maintain an understanding of the organization’s marketing strategies

  • Maintain an awareness of, and stay up to date with, relevant changes in applicable laws and procedures

  • Additional duties as assigned

Required Skills and Experience

  • Attention to detail is critical

  • Bachelor’s degree and paralegal certificate required

  • 5 years of experience, preferably in a large law firm or large corporate environment

  • Marketing and/or advertising experience is a plus

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Adobe Professional

  • Experience with project management

  • Excellent critical thinking skills and written and verbal communication skills

  • Self-starter, pro-active mindset; ability to use independent discretion and judgment

  • Strong issue-spotter and analytical skills

  • Ability to work independently and show initiative

  • Outstanding organizational skills and ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • Experience in the consumer products or manufacturing industry is preferred

  • Legal department software programs experience

Working Relationships & Environment

  • Reports to Assistant General Counsel

Work Environment

  • Less than 10% travel
