What You Will Do

The Demand Management Solution Architect will define needs, scope and detailed requirements for demand requests through engaging various business and technical stakeholders for the Demand and Capacity Management department. This individual will be responsible for the coordination and compilation of fully scoped demand records enabling consistent solutioning with technical detail to support accurate estimation.

Functional Responsibilities

Understand business drivers and business capabilities (future and current state), and determine corresponding enterprise system designs and change requirements to drive the organization's targeted business outcomes.

Design and lead the implementation of a solutions architecture across a group of specific business applications or technologies based on enterprise business strategy, business capabilities and business requirements.

Manage and develop the architecture for a broader scope of projects, working closely with application architects that manage and design architecture for a single project or initiative.

Provide consulting support to application teams within projects to ensure the project is aligned with the overall enterprise architecture.

Consult with application and infrastructure development projects to fit systems or infrastructure to architecture, and identify when it is necessary to modify projects to accommodate the solutions architecture.

Identify the organizational impact (for example, on skills, processes, structures or culture) and financial impact of the solutions architecture.

Document all solution architecture design and analysis work.

Leadership/Interpersonal Skills

Communicates and interacts effectively at various levels of the organization including senior leadership, business stakeholders and technical subject matter experts

Facilitates resolution of issues through creative solutioning, open exchange of information and viewpoints and influence; uses negotiation skills when appropriate

Instills a sense of urgency in driving to completion; escalates issues as needed with vendors and internal IT stakeholders

Writes clearly and succinctly in a variety of communication settings and styles while tailoring the messaging based on audience

Builds trust and respect with key stakeholders

Demonstrates proactive behaviors and self-management techniques, including but not limited to, working efficiently, demonstrating adaptability and setting goals

Builds effective relationships with vendors to understand and commit to Ascension’s organizational goals

Demonstrates alignment of principles, values, and behavior with expected organizational culture and values

Complexity of Work

Within scope of the job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment

Preferred:

5 years experience with at least 2+ years related to solution development experience

Good understanding of strategic and new and emerging technology trends, and the practical application of existing, new and emerging technologies to new and evolving business and operating models

Understanding of agile methods and processes, and capability of supporting agile project teams by providing advice and guidance on opportunities, impact and risks, taking account of technical and architectural debt

BS in Computer science, finance or related field or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience

What You Will Need

Education:

  • High school diploma/GED with 2 years of experience, or Associate's degree, or Bachelor's degree required

Work Experience:

  • 3 years of experience required.

  • 5 years of experience preferred.

  • 1 year of leadership or management experience preferred.
