Job Description

The candidate will be responsible for development in the the areas of Cloud Block and File Storage and data encryption. This will also include APIs and hybrid cloud integrations, integration with SoftLayer IMS. Person with strong analytic skills and a high desire to develop quality code in an agile process working with geographically distributed product managers/business analysts, architects and and software engineers. Design and develop one or more product features or sub-systems. Produce code that is sufficiently supported by unit tests and functional tests . Develop and maintain technical documentation related to the project. Code review peer’s work. Triage and solve live issues. Participate fully in all scrum activities. Conduct software development. Measure and improve performance of code and/or database. Work in a team environment.

Preferred locations : Austin, TX or Dallas, TX

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

  • Languages: PHP 5.x or higher, NetApp or other storage platform, SQL (Oracle, MySQL), Go-Lang, Java, C or C++ (For at least 3 years each)

  • Strong OOP background,

  • Strong familiarity with data structures and design patterns.

  • Github Enterprise Knowledge

  • Agile- Scrum Methodology,

  • NAT, Containers, Linux Technologies,

  • Minimum 3 years of recent software design, development, release, and maintenance of PHP; Object Oriented principles; MySQL; QA. Demonstrate experience with basic UI Development (CSS,HTML, JS).

  • Automation processes and tools;

  • SVN applications/products/tools.

  • Ability to work on multiple platforms (Linux and Windows).

Preferred Tech and Prof Experience

  • At least 2-3 years experience of delivering code for active Cloud services/projects;

  • Understand PHP and Go Languages

  • Have worked worked with Softlayer and Security projects.

  • Practical working experience with cloud computing technologies such as AWS, VMware, Azure, and/or Soft-layer is preferred. Integration experience with enterprise tools and back office systems is a big plus.
