IBM Senior Security Client Technical Specialist in St Louis, Missouri

Job Description

IBM Security solutions is looking for a Technical Sales Specialist to join the North America Cross Markets/NA Top team. As an IBM Security Technical Sales Specialist, you assume technical leadership and responsibility for designing and selling security solutions that allow our clients to detect and respond to modern threats using tools such as log managers, SIEMs, asset tracking, vulnerability management, network monitoring, threat data/threat modeling systems and cognitive systems. This is a customer facing role and the candidate must be comfortable and confident working with IT and Line of Business Executives and be able to work effectively in a collaborative role with IBM sales teams and business partners.

Candidates must possess:

  • A proven track record of hands-on experience with the technical aspects of Security Operations from the client’s perspective.

  • Demonstrable communication skills required to communicate IBM's Security strategy and portfolio to senior client executives, showing differentiated value vs. key competitors across log management, SIEM, flow analysis, vulnerability management, network monitoring, threat data/threat modeling systems and cognitive systems.

  • Ability to execute effective technical accelerators, including demos, as well as basic Proof of Technology (PoTs) and Proof of Concepts (PoCs).

  • Experience in technical solution design / architecture for security solutions, including capacity and throughput planning, and technical and quality assurance processes.

Additional key expertise and skills: Note that no candidate is expected to possess this entire list of skills and experiences. Successful candidates must demonstrate an appropriate mix however:

  • Strategies for attracting, training and retaining Security Operations staff.

  • Security Operations technology procurement strategies and processes.

  • Cyber incident planning and response.

  • Deep understanding of enterprise security analytics, including threat analysis and modeling, and applications of machine intelligence.

  • Understanding, and being able to articulate to clients, deployment processes and best practices to lower deployment risk and accelerate time to value, and overall client satisfaction and success.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

  • At least 3 years experience in Security as a practitioner or Sales

  • At least 5 years experience in technical solution design / architecture for security solutions, including product sizing, and technical and quality assurance processes.

  • Be capable of presenting and articulating the differentiated value of IBM Security solutions compared to competitors in the market.

  • Have experience in presenting the value proposition of the proposed IBM Security solutions to C-level.

  • Have experience as an individual contributor and team leader successfully executing PoTs / PoCs and extensive demonstrations in complex and competitive sales situations.

Preferred Tech and Prof Experience

  • Security Industry Certifications

  • At least 5 years experience in Security as a practitioner or in Sales

  • At least 7 years experience in technical solution design / architecture for security solutions, including product sizing, and technical and quality assurance processes.

  • Be capable of presenting and articulating the differentiated value of IBM Security solutions compared to competitors in the market.

  • Have experience in presenting the value proposition of the proposed IBM Security solutions to C-level.

  • Have experience as an individual contributor and team leader successfully executing PoTs / PoCs and extensive demonstrations in complex and competitive sales situations.
