Senior Program Manager

Perspecta has an immediate need for a Senior Program Manager – in Wilkes Barre, PA , Eagan, MN; San Francisco, CA; St. Louis, MO or Raleigh, NC.

  • Analyze management, business and technical issues related to program management and information systems.

  • Provide guidance on management processes and procedures, the business implications of various systems and the technical considerations.

  • Collaborate on feasibility studies and systems planning.

  • Assist in formulating systems scope and objectives.

  • Provide consulting on management concerns and priorities.

  • Devise and/or modify procedures for managing complex programs.

  • Assist in research and development and presentation activities that may advance the users information knowledge base.

  • May have quality assurance and risk management responsibilities.

  • Perform all functional duties independently.

  • Work on high-visibility programs or mission critical aspects of assigned program(s).

  • Oversee the efforts of direct reporting resources and/or is responsible for the efforts of all staff assigned to a specific job.

  • To support business efforts, travel may be required.

Qualifications

Required:

A degree from an accredited College/University in Software Engineering, Computer Science or related discipline is preferred.

  • A minimum of ten (10) years’ experience in project management, software development or related field.

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred.

  • Ability to perform all functional duties independently on high-visibility programs or mission critical aspects of a given program.

  • Oversee the efforts of direct reporting resources and/or be responsible for the efforts of all staff assigned to a specific job.

  • Experience in training/mentoring less experienced personnel.

  • Broad knowledge of project management disciplines as outlined in the Project Management Body of Knowledge.

  • Ability to analyze management, business and technical issues related to a given program/system and provide guidance on management processes and procedures, the business implications of various systems and technical considerations.

  • Extensive experience with program management, including defining system scope and objectives, consulting on management concerns/priorities and devising/modifying processes and procedures for managing complex programs.

  • Ability to collaborate on feasibility studies and system planning.

  • Strong experience with research and development and resulting presentation of results to enhance the program's knowledge base.

  • Extensive experience with issue/risk management and program-level quality assurance activities.

  • Excellent communication skills.
