IBM Senior Network Security Architect in St Louis, Missouri

Your Role and Responsibilities

Are you looking to take the next step in your security career? We are looking for a highly skilled Network Security Architect to drive the defense of our critical networks. You could be an integral part of our dynamic Global IBM CISO team, delivering business critical, leading edge security capabilities across the application life-cycle.

In this role you will be you responsible for the following:

  • Provide technical and program leadership as we design and deploy our next generation secure network architecture.

  • Serve as the primary subject matter expert on topics related to network security architecture, design and implementation.

  • Deliver reference architectures, position papers, roadmaps, and other architectural artifacts keeping the organization at the leading edge.

  • Establish network security architecture review and governance process to evaluate the security of network architecture and designs in accordance with policies, standards and industry best practices.

  • Lead network security architecture review and governance process to ensure that existing network and proposed network architectures meet business and security requirements.

  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of network security related models, policies and standards.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Apply expert knowledge of network security architecture concepts including topology, protocols, components, and principles (e.g., application of defense-in-depth) to increase the security of current and proposed network architectures.

  • Apply in-depth knowledge of network design processes, to include understanding of security objectives, operational objectives, and trade-offs.

  • Apply expert knowledge of network security techniques and technology (e.g., encryption, firewalls, authentication, honey pots, perimeter protection) to define appropriate network security requirements.

  • Apply the organization's security goals and objectives to develop and maintain risk-aware model network security architectures.

  • Maintain and apply knowledge of current and emerging network security architectures, practices and technology to sustain network security architecture relevance.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

We believe you are a good fit for this role if you are someone that can identify optimal solutions to architectural network security problems, pro-actively identify and address risk, elaborate and communicate technical topics to a wide variety of audiences, and who is adaptable in the face of changing priorities. From a technical expertise perspective, you will succeed in this job if you have 7 year(s) of experience in:

  • Implementing or assessing network security technology and architectures on a large scale.

  • Designing secure networks and communicating the design.

  • Identifying and remediating network security architectural weaknesses.

  • Collaborating and teaming with disparate stakeholders to achieve shared goals.

  • Providing technical leadership on networks, network security and network security architectures.

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

  • Network penetration testing experience.

  • Network security related consulting experience.

  • Leading technical squads.
