St. Mary's Good Samaritan Revenue Cycle Consultant in St. Louis, Missouri


Role Purpose:

This position is responsible for providing support to CBO leadership by leading project, designing or improving workflows/processes, and implementing change. The consultant will also participate in process improvement initiatives led by others, assist with and/or complete assigned tasks within a project and track all CBO specific projects. Assignments and oversight for the position will come primarily from the CBO Director but may also come from Department Managers. The Revenue Cycle Consultant demonstrates a continual commitment and assessing and adjusting practices in order to achieve short-term and long-term organizational goals. Furthermore, the consultant will work closely with CBO managers who are leading or are an integral part of a process improvement team to complete tasks on their behalf, freeing the manager to focus on day to day operations.


  • Provides support for the development and execution of plans to improve policies, procedures, and systems within the CBO.

  • Conducts root cause analysis to determine the source of performance issues in identified areas of concern.

  • Carries out other assignments or special projects as directed.

  • Participates in multiple projects simultaneously, keeping priorities aligned with overall organization goals and initiatives.

  • Assists management in monitoring the project results and identifies areas for additional improvement.

  • Adheres to project timelines, insuring that all tasks are completed on time.

  • Provides frequent status updates, reports, and project summaries of assigned tasks to the project leader as well as the CBO Managers and Directors..

  • Utilizes a strong understanding of software, operational workflows, governing policies, and regulations to assist in process changes.

  • Maintains and updates the CBO project log, coordinator with assigned managers to ensure information is accurate and up to date.

  • Lead CBO efforts/ad hoc teams not being overseen by the PBS Performance Improvement team.

  • Serve as vendor liaison when PBS projects affect or involve CBO vendors

  • Collaborates with various departments to develop approaches to implement timely and effective change, identify needed resources, flow current process and complete projects.

  • Creates and delivers presentations as needed per project scopes/goals.

  • Aids in tracking key performance indicators, and/or compiles metrics at the departmental level.

  • Coordinates meetings as necessary to insure task or project completion.


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • 3 years of Healthcare Reimbursement experience.

  • Experience in managing projects involving the collaboration, motivation and cooperation of a wide variety of people with whom there is no direct reporting relationship.

  • Experience as a team leader and member on process improvement projects.
