What You Will Do

Director, Infrastructure Monitoring and Reliability


Works with Infrastructure and EA leads to define monitoring and tools strategy to ensure full observability via end-end monitoring from user / application through infrastructure.

Works with Application and Infrastructure teams in defining appropriate alerts and thresholds for the applications and infrastructure monitored.

Evaluates and recommends monitoring tools and services provided by external Service providers and acts as a customer advocate in influencing product strategy and roadmaps.

Creates metrics and scorecards to ensure monitoring is consistently leveraged.

Requires a strong leadership influence across the business units to set the strategy, direction, road map and execution of Infrastructure monitoring which enables scaling of the ministry wide platforms reliably and securely.


Works with Infrastructure leads to define key reliability best practices.

Works with the SIAM team to ensure alignment to success metrics.

Leads Problem Management practice with Infrastructure to drive down recurring issues.

Strives to proactively identify issues through monitoring before they become apparent to the end user.

Represents Infrastructure in AT Reliability Review meetings.

Requires a strong understanding of cloud technologies, distributed cloud monitoring and SRE principles.


End user performance is the baseline from which all monitoring should derive target thresholds. Works closely with all stakeholders to establish a repeatable pattern for synthetic transaction monitoring baseline, anomaly alerting, and ensures every component or hop that delivers the application is monitored for quick identification and resolution of issues. This often includes monitoring of 3rd party components.


Develops a tool strategy that enables the organization to be astute stewards of capital resource investments. Identifies under/over resource allocation and works with stakeholder teams to reassign resources as appropriate.

  • Define project goals, objectives and schedule to align with business strategy.

  • Direct assignment of necessary project resources to meet goals.

  • Ensure all aspects of the project are documented for internal and external use.

  • Define project budget and monitors and adjust plan as resource requirements change.

  • Ensure quality metrics meet project goals.

  • Resolve all project issues to ensure project remains on track.

What You Will Need


  • High school diploma/GED with 2 years of experience, or Associate's degree, or Bachelor's degree required.

  • Master's degree preferred.

Work Experience:

  • 5 years of experience required.

  • 10 years of experience preferred.

  • 2 years of leadership or management experience required.

  • 5 years of leadership or management experience preferred.
