Farnsworth Group is seeking a Project Architect in our Fairview Heights or St. Louis office. In this role, you will collaborate with other senior staff to manage, inspire our team of talented Architects, grow the office through developing client relationships and lead business development opportunities within our current and potential market sectors.

Job Activities:

  • Create, manage and produce projects for municipal, recreational, higher education, healthcare and other institutional and commercial clients.

  • Provide the primary designer and leadership roles to our multi-disciplinary teams on projects throughout all stages, from concept to delivery.

  • Mentor mid-level architectural staff

  • Actively participate in regional business development pursuits including strategic proposal development for the group to achieve business development and financial goals

  • Serve as a seller-doer generating work, creating long-term relationships and delivering long-term value to clients.

  • Assisting with business development efforts, including market research, client relationships, developing leads and securing contracts.

  • Developing, reviewing and approving proposals, reports and contract documents.

Specific Requirements include:

  • Multidisciplinary experience in any or all of the following markets: Healthcare, Education, Recreational, Municipal, Institutional, Multi-Family, and Senior Living.

  • Demonstrated design insight and leadership on major projects

  • Experience with responding to Requests for Proposals, Expression of Interests, Statement of Qualifications

  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills

  • Excellent organization, coordination, leadership, team-building and managerial skills

  • Knowledge of market assessment techniques, insights and contacts

  • Proven success in developing new clients and maintaining strong client relationships

  • Bachelor’s Degree Architecture, required, Masters, preferred

  • Registered Architect in Illinois and/or Missouri, NCARB preferred

  • 8-12 years of experience in architectural design and planning of facilities within core markets

  • Demonstrated technical expertise, proven project management and supervisory experience
