LSEG Product Manager, Maxit Tax Reporting in St. Louis, Missouri

We are seeking a Product Manager to provide tax reporting subject matter expertise and the translation of reporting rules into regulatory compliant product requirements. The Product Manager will provide business analysis, requirements, and strategic direction to product and development teams in the design, implementation and support of tax and operational processing systems.

This role is a high-profile position at LSEG, helping to design, build, implement and manage tax technology solutions for bank/broker, custodian, back office and prime brokerage clients and prospects across the financial services industry.

Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and interpret evolving US and state tax rules and regulations

  • Develop/maintain sophisticated understanding of financial services workflow, cost basis, and 1099 reporting

  • Lead the product team through complex calculation requirements that translate into a comprehensive, regulatory compliant and creative product experience

  • Analyze complex data, regulatory and business issues to design and document product solutions

  • Build use cases, workflows, scenarios for business validation sessions

  • Work closely with the development team in an agile environment to insure high-quality, iterative delivery of features and functions to production

  • Drive business testing and validation of use cases and support the QA process through to product release

  • Provide leadership to tax reporting staff in on-going production client support

  • Assist in product feature definition for sales and marketing

Skill Requirements:

  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent combination of training and experience; MS/MBA in taxation highly preferred

  • A great understanding of and experience working within the financial services industry

  • Proven experience in the tax reporting/compliance field

  • Intricate knowledge of tax withholding and reporting for securities including mutual funds, stocks, corporate and municipal bonds, and corporate actions; FATCA knowledge preferred

  • Understanding of specialized calculations and statements for UIT, REMIC, WHFIT and income reclassification highly desirable

  • Familiarity with industry cost basis regulations

  • Familiarity with retirement account tax reporting

  • Ability to analyze complex business and technical issues and develop potential solutions or recommendations

  • Outstanding communication skills. Ability to structure documents and presentations for maximum clarity

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to interact with various departments, management, and external partners

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office software: Excel, Word, Visio, PowerPoint

  • Familiarity with Microsoft Teams, Jira, Confluence and Salesforce is desirable, but not required
