Cigna Operating Effectiveness Senior Advisor in St. Louis, Missouri

The Operating Effectiveness Senior Advisor provides counsel and advice to top management on significant Operating Effectiveness matters, often requiring coordination between organizations. Identifies and facilitates process design changes and executes process improvement initiatives. Leads and manages larger and more complex cross-functional process improvement projects.


  • Provides counsel and advice to top management on significant operating effectiveness challenges, recommends solutions and best practices

  • Identifies and facilitates process changes and executes process improvement initiatives.

  • Leads and manages larger and more complex cross-functional process improvement projects.

  • Analyzes and measures the effectiveness of existing business processes and develops sustainable, repeatable and quantifiable business process improvements.

  • Collects and analyzes process data to initiate, develop and recommend business practices and procedures that focus on enhanced quality, increased productivity, and reduced cost.

  • Provides thought leadership and expertise across multiple disciplines. Recognized internally as “the go-to person” for challenges prohibiting organizational effectiveness.

  • Researches best business practices within and outside the organization to establish benchmark data.

  • Self-directed and capable of leading a team of professionals through the design, building and implementation of change

  • Works well with all sizes of groups from a wider range of different organizations, as well as reporting out to senior executives.

  • Ability to deal with ambiguity, embracing change and helping others see it as an opportunity and stay focused on goals while adapting to change

  • Maintains a positive working relationship with teammates and matrix partners.

  • Continually strive to improve their own skills and competencies by demonstrating initiative to participate in ongoing coaching and training programs

  • Demonstrated ability to drive results required.

  • High School diploma; Bachelor’s degree preferred. Bachelor’s degree preferred in technology, business or a related field, MA or MS a plus.

  • 5 or more years of applicable experience in a large, matrixed organization.

  • Experience supporting large change initiatives in a large scale business environment.

  • Proven ability to successfully and sustainably drive organizational change.

  • Exceptional communication skills – both written and verbal.

  • Strong presentation skills (PowerPoint), and the ability to communicate effectively with all levels.

  • Excellent active listening skills.

  • Comfort with ambiguity.

  • Ability to engage and influence at all levels of the organizational structure.

  • Ability to easily move between lead role and support role as work is assigned.

  • Ability to see the big picture, and operate effectively delivering tactical and strategic objectives.

  • Demonstrated passion around customer focus and improving processes that impact customer satisfaction.

  • Proven ability to develop strong working relationships and establish a high level of credibility across functional lines of business and organizational levels.

  • Problem-solving and root cause identification skills.

  • Strong analytical and decision-making abilities.

  • Familiarity with project management approaches tools and phases of the project lifecycle a plus.

  • Working knowledge of all Microsoft Office tools (Visio, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, SharePoint, Project).
