TierPoint, LLC Network Engineer III in St. Louis, Missouri
AGS is TierPoint’s most secure offering for providing Managed Services to a customer. The compliance and restrictions enforced on providing such a service create a unique set of requirements around both the infrastructure within scope as well as the personnel providing the service. Security clearance(s) may be required (including ability to be granted Public Trust Clearance and Secret level clearance). Each TierPoint employee carrying an AGS in their title will be required to undergo an FBI background check as a prerequisite to hire.
The Network Engineer III-AGS is responsible for the design, configuration and delivery of client driven network projects for customers subscribed to TierPoint AGS. The successful candidate will need to demonstrate senior level expertise in network routing, switching, firewall, and load balancing technologies as they apply to a service provider. They will work directly with customers and translate complex requests into common language. They will be responsible for training and mentoring other team members. They will act as a network escalation point for projects and issues.

Develop and deploy the network and firewall configuration to support the solution sold
Write and review MOPs as a part of the Tierpoint change management process
Provide clear, accurate and timely communications with customers and project management
Work in a team environment and complete needed tasks to help the projects meet the forecast timelines
Provide documentation to accurately reflect the as-built of the solution design
Provide customers with support, ideas and best practices to improve the delivery of their service
Alert management and Project Management of any issues identified that would impact the delivery of services.
Provide support for solutions for 10 days post implementation to help support transition of the customer into the TierPoint EOC
Mentor and train other employees as needed

8+ years of advanced configuration experience on network and security equipment
Excellent customer facing communication skills (both written and verbal)
8+ years configuration experience and expert level understanding of core networking technologies including:
BGP (service provider level configuration)
Routing and switching infrastructure from Cisco, Juniper, etc.
Cisco 7600/6500 series
Cisco Nexus data center switching platforms
Layer 2 technologies such as Spanning Tree, STP, RSTP, etc.
8+ years of experience with network security technologies, advanced configuration and best practices in one or more of the below platforms:
Expert level network troubleshooting skills utilizing packet capture/analysis packages such as Omnipeek, Wireshark, etc.
Experience writing design and implementation documents, Visio drawings, process documents, customer statements of work, etc.
Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize and organize effectively
Ability to work both independently and with others
Ability to operate in a fast moving, team-oriented, collaborative environment with tight deadlines
Strong ability to work in a highly sensitive and confidential environment
Ability to meet deadlines and handle sensitive and pressured situations
Possess advanced knowledge to be responsible to work on and/or assist with more complex implementations and/or problem resolution
Ability to use good judgment and decision-making skills
Adequate professional experience and knowledge to perform Job Responsibilities
Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills
Ability to prioritize and organize effectively
Proficiency in using MS Office Suite and Windows-based computer applications
Prior experience particularly in the data center industry supporting environments that must adhere to strict compliance and regulatory frameworks such as Payment Card Industry Data Security Standards (PCI-DSS), IRS Publication 1075, NIST SP800-53, FedRamp, HITRUST.
Obtained or willing to obtain relevant industry certifications (CCNP, CCIE, CISSP, etc.)
Experience supporting large scale data center infrastructure environments
Recent experience with network virtualization technologies such as virtual firewalls, virtual load balancers, MPLS VRFs, Nexus 1000V, etc.
Experience supporting the networking requirements for Multi-tenant environments.
5+ years of support and design of load balancer implementations including:
F5 LTM & GTM, V-Shield, Brocade, Riverbed, A10
Experience and knowledge of network monitoring/management technologies
SNMP, Netflow, syslog, monitoring applications, etc.
Expert level knowledge of DNS
