The Boeing Company Mid Level Systems Safety Engineer in St. Louis, Missouri
Boeing Defense is seeking a
Mid Level Systems Safety Engineer (Level 3)
to support the System Safety activities on an unmanned autonomous air vehicle in
St. Louis, Missouri . The selected candidate will be tasked to support critical system safety work in support of military airworthiness
Leads detailed system safety tasks such as system and subsystem hazard analysis, fault tree analysis, sneak circuit analysis, software safety
Documents hazard analysis and risk assessments (e.g. safety assessment reports, hazard notification), analysis and control of hardware and software
Supports design activities to provide advice and counsel on pertinent regulatory and safety requirements
Assists with the evaluation of customer/operational needs to define system performance requirements and derived safety requirements, as well integration of technical parameters to assure compatibility of physical, functional, and program interfaces
This position requires the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship.
An interim and/or final U.S. Secret clearance Post Start is required.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry
years of experience have with system safety analysis
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
Experience developing/applying aviation related system safety analysis methods such as System Safety Risk Assessments, Fault-tree Analysis (FTA), Functional Hazard Assessment (FHA) and Safety Assessment Report (SAR)
Experience working on unmanned systems
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
