Nature of Work
Incumbents in this position provide computer support for networks and stand alone units. Duties include providing user training, configuring and installing hardware/software and resolving problems with hardware, software, networks and peripheral equipment.

An Associate's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a closely related field; OR two years of computer technical support experience reconfiguring, installing and troubleshooting problems with hardware and software. OR an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Documentation of academic credentials must be submitted upon request.
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS: At least one year of previous customer service experience in a computer help desk work environment troubleshooting/resolving network and user problems.

As part of the “Character Investigation”, candidates must meet the minimum screening requirements for certification to access the Regional Justice Information System (REJIS) and must maintain said certification while employed by the City of St. Louis.
