Job Description

Job Summary:

The Manager, Service Management leads the management and delivery of IT services to AIS customers within a designated Ministry.

Responsibilities:

  • Manages and executes according to organizationally-aligned strategic and operational goals, and plans consistent with the technological, clinical, administrative, legal and ethical requirements and objectives

  • Drives business transformation with an eye toward a better customer experience, automation, standardization, reduction of waste, and increased efficiency

  • Inspires, encourages and rewards innovation and creativity

  • Manages using clearly defined key performance indicators for all Service Management operations, taking appropriate action to ensure operational readiness for Healthcare Operations and provide great customer service

  • Provides leadership to ministry Field Services Technicians comprising desktop and telecom technicians performing break/fix, refresh, IMAC, staging, and project functions

  • Ensures fiscal responsibility by tracking adherence to budgets rooted in good stewardship, increasing efficiencies, and driving value.

  • Manages and ensures compliance with internal and external audits.

  • Provides leadership for the operational support strategy for production systems and implements transition plans for systems moving from development to production support

  • Leads change management and cultural transformation as needed

  • Plans, organizes and directs activities related to staffing, including hiring, orienting, evaluating, disciplinary actions and continuing education initiatives

  • Develops and strengthens positive business relationships with key internal partners and significant external partners

  • Makes sound judgements escalating issues and outages appropriately

  • Leads by example in creating an environment that encourages open communication, sharing ideas and building strong relationships

Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent work experience.

Work Experience:

  • Five years of progressively responsible experience, including one year leadership skills, preferred.
