Pfizer Manager, Program Management Office (PMO) in St. Louis, Missouri

ROLE SUMMARY

The Manager of Program Management oversees the coordination and administration of all aspects of site level programs including planning, strategic organization, staffing, leading, and controlling all program activities. Responsibilities include project selection, pre-planning, scope development, cost estimating, budgeting, scheduling, resource planning, and benefit delivery validation. Leads a team of program stream leaders and project managers to ensure consistent and effective management of all critical site level initiatives. The Manager of Program Management will also own and continuously develop and improve the site Program Management process and governance.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop standard project management tools, templates and methodologies to deliver efficient and effective project execution;

  • Establish financial controls and approve project expenditures as being within the scope of the project;

  • Coordinate the start-up, validation, turnover and project close-out.

  • Collaborate with and influence Site Leadership Team on project portfolio selection and rationalization

  • Provide project governance and support for new product introduction, capital investment, quality & compliance improvement, safety mitigation, supply delivery and savings generation driven projects.

  • Provide project / program management training and onboarding for full-time and contract Project / Program managers.

  • Prepare agenda, slide deck and provide facilitation for monthly Site Leadership Team Program Review Board meetings.

  • Act as site ambassador to create a systematic program management culture across the site.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • EDUCATION: The successful candidate will have a minimum of 15 years of applicable experience and a BA/BS/MS degree in Engineering, Chemistry, Physical/Biological Sciences, Business, Integrated Supply Management, or related applicable discipline that will enable the team to meet its mission.

  • EXPERIENCE: The candidate must demonstrate:

  • Effective team building skills

  • Proven leadership and change management abilities

  • Ability to effectively coach and mentor colleagues

  • Strong oral and written communication skills

  • Ability to influence at all levels of the site

  • Project Management education and experience

  • Ability to connect the mission of the team to site goals

  • PMP certification is highly desired.
