** Overview

The *Treasury Technology Services (TTS) unit is the embedded information technology organization for the Treasury Division at FRB St. Louis. TTS is looking for a *Manager, IT DevOps to help lead the development and support of our build pipeline platform. The team consists of software and support engineers who want to provide developers with a fast & reliable build and deploy infrastructure. This role requires you to solve difficult problems together with a team of extremely knowledgeable and talented people. Our job is to get fresh code, data, and features into the hands of our users. ** Responsibilities

  • Manage a team responsible for implementation and support of the development lifecycle tools from desktop to production with a desire to create a culture that promotes self-organization and focus on delivery.

  • Build effective relationships between IT, business users, and internal/external service providers

  • Work closely with technical resources and leaders across different development and support teams to build high availability scalable processes and tools

  • Administrate and support effective use of development lifecycle tools (Jira, BitBucket, Bamboo, Nexus) with the ability to help design cloud operational support models for application deployments and improve efficiency of infrastructure

  • Work at a very detailed level while still being able to abstract ideas for communication to cross-functional teams and senior management.

  • Analyze all aspects of existing infrastructure and recommend modifications that will enhance system reliability, availability, serviceability and scalability

  • Serve as point of contact and facilitate access to subject matter experts

  • Communicate to senior levels on technical, Shared Services and 3rd-party issues

  • Responsible for the assignment of internal project resources

  • Lead, coach, and manage direct reports and provide support and guidance as required, in line with individuals’ abilities (e.g., advise individuals on career paths, and encourage pro-active development of skills and capabilities)

  • Set performance targets, and monitor progress against agreed quality and performance criteria

  • Review and monitors resource work load


  • Bachelor’s degree or commensurate experience

  • 7 years relevant experience in Configuration Management, Devops, Risk Management

  • 5 years supervisory responsibilities with progressively more complex managerial duties including: staffing decisions, coaching and development, and performance evaluations

  • Experience with Deployment automation, Process definition and Audit compliance

  • Well-developed understanding of cloud based application deployment patterns and knowledge of OpenStack and cloud computing practices

  • Experience working as a DevOps or Release manager for medium complexity releases containing change in 10-20 interconnected applications.

  • Familiarity with networking systems, infrastructure architecture and application hosting

  • Able to understand and implement code automation tools, custom tools and scripts as necessary to evolve systems and processes to develop automation and monitoring across web application life cycle management

  • Ability to coordinate tool release planning, environment mapping, and work with infrastructure resources for multiple applications

  • Ability to define and implement Configuration Management practices to meet audit compliance

  • Experience utilizing the current industry standards for automated builds, unit testing, source code control, and continuous integration.

  • Effective written and verbal communication skills

  • Flexible and able to deal with ambiguity, address uncertainty and adapt to changing priorities

  • Candidates with less experience may be considered at a lower job grade and/or salary.

  • Travel (10%)
