Hill-Rom Lead Software Engineer (Remote) in St Louis, Missouri
The team hiring for this position is working with, Java, Python and C# in the Azure cloud to provide a business wide medical device integrated and event driven platform that will be the basis for many mission critical applications across the company.
The role of the Lead Software Engineer is to foster a team of innovative and highly performing software engineers in a rapidly growing, highly technical and collaborative enterprise software environment. The ideal candidate has a strong technical background and the drive and skill to help team members succeed technically and professionally.
The Lead Software Engineer is expected to own projects and deliverables and communicate proactively with business partners, the agile team and upper management.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
Work in an Agile Scrum environment, focusing on sustainable development of high performance scalable, and maintainable enterprise solutions.
Collaborate with the team to facilitate design discussions around architecture and business requirements with Architects, Product Owners, and Business Analysts. Take ownership of undefined and unbounded problems and work with the team to create and deliver scalable designs and solutions.
Provide technical leadership, direction, and oversight of development teams throughout the software development lifecycle.
Provide recommendations for continuous improvement and development best practices across products, teams, architecture, and implementations.
Ensure successful system delivery to the production environment and assist the operations and support team in resolving production issues, as necessary.
Team development, coaching and providing feedback to individual team members, training, and support so all team members have, and use required technical competencies.
Participate in the pull request (code reviews) process to ensure adherence to coding best practices.
Proven track record of authoring exceptional code employing known software and enterprise patterns.
Education and/or Experience:
Significant experience (5-10 years) in software development role delivering solutions with a track record of completing and delivering products to production.
Self-motivating, self-directing, a great communicator, and a desire to take personal responsibility to complete tasks and solve problems.
Experienced in working on large enterprise, high-availability, software products.
Familiarity with the .NET development stack, preferably .NET Core.
In depth experience with Java Spring Cloud technologies.
In depth experience with Docker, Docker Compose and Linux containers.
Must have experience with relational or document databases, both is a plus.
Experience in Microservice Architecture, implementation, deployment, and testing (unit, integration).
Experience developing software in an agile environment and shipping features in a fast-moving, cross-disciplinary team (Product Owners, Designers, Business Analysts, QA, etc.)
Experience successfully working remotely and/or with geographically dispersed teams.
Experience with Kubernetes and general containerization and orchestration approaches is key.
Experience with CI/CD including Jenkins, Circle CI, Code Fresh, Azure pipelines, or concepts and tools in integration/continuous delivery and deployment (CI/CD)
Healthcare and FDA regulatory compliance experience is a plus.
