World Wide Technology Lead Data Architect - Remote, Nationwide in St. Louis, Missouri

What we need from you:

Remote, Natiowide Locations

Required qualifications (10-15 years experience)

  • Deep understanding of database design, architecting data models, and engineering data flows

  • Ability to translate complex business problems into data-driven solutions

  • Flexibility in working across different database technologies and propensity to learn new platforms on-the-fly

  • Fundamentals in the basics of compute, network, and storage (including SAN/Isilon)

  • Basic data manipulation/ETL skills using modern frameworks (e.g. Hive, Spark, Sqoop)

  • Some exposure to modern database security frameworks (e.g., Sentry, Ranger, Knox)

  • Ability to be hands-on keyboard, but also create high-level and detailed design documentation

  • Passion for designing architectures across a number of technologies to solve complex business problems (e.g., HPC/Big data platforms, Lambda architectures, and high-speed streaming)

  • Certified in any of the traditional data warehousing technologies (e.g., Teradata, Oracle) and/or modern platforms (e.g., Hadoop, NoSQL, AWS, GCP, Azure)

  • Passion for troubleshooting anything with a can-do attitude

  • Strong interpersonal skills and a team player (willing to lead or support depending on situation)

  • Ability to present complex ideas in clear and concise manner to c-level audience

  • Proficient in designing and implementing logical, physical, and dimensional data models using tools like Erwin

Added bonus experience

  • Some Java development experience, ability to build simple Java apps

  • Comfortable working with and optimizing Linux/Unix environments

  • RHCSA certified or higher

  • Expertise in enterprise systems (e.g., OSIPi, SAP HANA, etc.)

  • Experience managing LDAP, AD, and/or Kerberos

  • Experience with Java, Python or other languages

  • Experience integrating BI/Analytics platforms with Hadoop and/or NoSQL (e.g., SAS, Tableau)

  • Up to 50% travel
