IBM IaaS Infrastructure Engineer - VMware in St Louis, Missouri

Your Role and Responsibilities
Design, implement, and administrate infrastructure and solutions that support the IBM VMware Cloud environment
Support the compliance and security integrity of the environment through your work
Support development of new and enhanced existing capabilities for our VMware infrastructure services
Partner with other teams, functional managers and program managers to deliver mission-critical services to the market
Provide technical escalation support for the Infrastructure Operations team
Lead by example; mentor and cross-train other team members to raise expertise level for the whole teamPreferred Location : Dallas, TX
Required Technical and Professional Expertise
10+ years of experience in data center infrastructure or relevant work experience
10+ years of experience in large-scale infrastructure design, engineering, and support
10+ years of experience in IT Change, Incident, Problem, Asset management
5+ years of infrastructure architect with proven record for delivering high-quality, large-scale solutions
5+ years of practical experience with VMware vSphere, vRealize Operations, and vRealize Automation
5+ years of practical experience in integrating VMware environment with other subsystems
3+ years of working knowledge with Software Defined Network principles and technologies: VMware NSX, Juniper vSRX, or equivalent
3+ year of working knowledge with storage and data protection technologies: Veeam, Zerto, or equivalent
Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise
Working knowledge with one or more operating systems: Windows Servers, RHEL, Ubuntu, CentOS Linux
Working knowledge with one or more programming tools: Bash, PowerShell, Python, Ruby, etc.
Working knowledge with one or enterprise management tools: Chef, Ansible, Git
Working knowledge with MS SQL, Active Directory, LDAP
Working knowledge with ServiceNow, JIRA, Confluent, and GitHub
Working knowledge with one or more Logging & Monitoring technologies: Zabbix, Splunk, Kafka, ELK Stack, RabbitMQ, etc.
Working knowledge with ServiceNow, JIRA, Confluent, and GitHub
ITIL Foundation V4 certification is a plus
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Highly responsible, motivated, able to work with little direction
Experience with design and development of complex systems
Ability to troubleshoot complex problems and customer issues
