The Boeing Company Experienced Model Based Systems Engineering Focal in St Louis, Missouri
Boeing Defense Space and Security is currently looking for an Experienced Model Based Systems Engineering Focal join their team in one of the following locations: St. Louis, MO, Arlington, VA, Colorado Springs, CO, Huntsville, AL, Mesa, AZ, El Segundo, CA or Oklahoma City, OK. This position will focus on supporting the 2nd Century Enterprise Systems (2CES) Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) effort to deploy the 2CES MBSE tool suite to programs across BDS, BCA, BGS, and ETT. This position will perform a wide variety of Systems Engineering functions to support BDS programs ensuring our products meet performance requirements and are delivered to meet market and/or customer needs. This position helps programs develop system architectures in an MBSE environment. The candidate should have experienced in the Systems Engineering activities through the life cycle (such as requirements development, system design, verification planning and testing, etc.).
The successful candidate will work in a fast paced and dynamic environment and work both independently and as part of team to support BDS programs start-up and execution. Strong oral and written communication skills and the ability to resolve cross-functional technical issues are also ideal. The individual will be a self-starter, comfortable with identifying and solving problems, able to understand the big design picture (larger than just MBSE), and have good communication skills.
Position Responsibilities:
Lead Functional Thread Workshops with programs across the enterprise to help identify, design, and record highly complex/important design threads
Program Outreach and Communication with MBSE users, System Architecture Leads, and Division Systems Engineering leaders
Identification and prioritization of program needs to improve 2CES MBSE tool suite
Manage the Engineering Help Desk to support program issues with MBSE tools and methods
MBSE Startup for new and existing Programs
Focus on engagement with programs to help them setup their usage of MBSE, and identify recommendations to programs to embed MBSE within their overall design culture
Generate reference and starter MBSE artifacts (such as reference system models, plans, etc.) to allow programs to start quickly
Up to 25% travel
This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
Bachelor's, Master's or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry
Experience with Systems Engineering Principles
3 or more years of experience in a technical or engineering field
1+ year of experience with requirements, designs, and design analysis
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
Experience in Model Based System Engineering is highly desired
Experience with systems architecture, requirements development and test & verification
Experience leading and/or performing analyses for affordability, safety, reliability, maintainability, testability, human systems integration, survivability, vulnerability, susceptibility, system security, regulatory, certification, product assurance or other specialties engineering disciplines
Knowledge of MBSE tools and languages (such as SysML) is a strong plus
Knowledge of SW languages and ability to write scripts and understand agile processes is highly desired
Experience using all the following Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
Typical Education & Experience:
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Colorado summary pay range: Min: $76,500 – Max: $127,500
