Advanced ICU Care Database Administrator in St. Louis, Missouri

Advanced ICU Care, the leading tele-ICU provider in the United States, is seeking a highly motivated and talented individual to join our team as a Database Administrator based in St. Louis, MO. The Database administrator assists in maintenance, performance tuning, design, development, and testing of database solutions that support clinical workflows and business processes. This role will also be responsible for helping to determine the best practices for the team with regards to database administration.

For this position, success will be defined by the following responsibilities:

  • Designs and manages implementation guidelines with regards to any development done within the context of the database.

  • Creates and maintains new and existing data warehouse and database systems.

  • Creates and tunes tables, views, indexes, T-SQL queries, stored procedures, functions and SQL jobs.

  • Develops ETL processes utilizing SSIS and other technologies to help facilitate data needs. This would be both for overall application needs and our reporting environments.

  • Manage and improve existing reports and create new reports in Microsoft Reporting Services (SSRS).

  • Manage database blocks, deadlocks and transactions.

  • Develop a database partitioning and archiving strategy to enforce data retention and improve performance.

  • Assists in troubleshooting, problem solving and performance tuning of SQL environment.

  • Documentation of databases and workflows.

The successful candidate must demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication with employees on all levels, the ability to work in a team environment and lead by example, in addition to lead and deliver projects on schedule and on budget. The ability to work in agile fashion to deliver software more frequently, responding to change requirements who is a self-starter with strong analytical and problem solving skills who takes ownership of issues to see them through to resolution with little or no supervision. Must also demonstrate a commitment to maintain superior technical services to support patient care.

Required qualifications and skills for position include:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical field or equivalent work experience

  • Five years database administration and development experience

  • Experience with Database administration, T-SQL, SSIS, SSRS, SSAS, SQL Server 2008, 2012, 2014, 2017

  • Five or more years in distributed systems design and development

  • Five years developing detailed design specifications, policies/procedures, and test plans

  • Broad knowledge of applications, database and integration protocols.
