Monsanto COE Data Analyst in ST. LOUIS, Missouri

We are seeking a highly-motivated COE Data Analyst . This position will be located in St. Louis, MO, reporting to the Production and Planning COE Lead.

This role will work as a member of the Planning and Production COE (Center of Excellence) Team. The COE Data Analyst will perform pipeline analysis and operations modeling to determine action plans that will advance the production & planning capabilities for our breeding pipelines. This role will have the opportunity to develop new strategies and implement plans. Key Responsibilities:

  • Use scientific methods, processes, algorithms and systems to extract knowledge and insights from data to enhance our planning and production processes

  • Analyze breeding pipelines to identify improvement opportunities, impact operational strategy, and secure process alignment with stakeholders

  • Provide stakeholders insights on operational outcomes

  • Partner with regional breeding teams to understand and operationalize breeding strategies, pipeline schemes and long-range plans

  • Provide feedback to planning team leads on prioritization, progress, and feasibility

  • Develop performance metrics to measure the planning process performance and effectiveness

  • Evaluate cost benefit analysis & risk mitigation strategies

Required Skills/Experience:

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Data Analytics or a related field

  • 3+ years of related experience

  • Proficiency in data visualization (Visio, Spotfire, and/or Tableau) and Microsoft Office tools

  • Functional programming experience with R or Python

  • Project management experience, with the ability to drive projects to completion

  • Aptitude to lead by influence and establish strong partnerships

  • Proficiency in solving complex problems with creative and effective solutions

  • Ability to travel overnight occasionally

Desired Skills/Experience:

  • Master’s Degree in Data Analytics or related field

  • Understanding of plant breeding pipelines and operations

  • Business strategy acumen and ability to build alignment across teams

  • Familiarity with operational research models for complex logistics

  • Ability to recognize trends in metrics data leading to new insights for improvement

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

  • Proven ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously with shifting priorities, strategies, and timeframes
