Business Information Consultant Senior

This position may be filled in the Atlanta, GA, Chicago, IL, Las Vegas, NV,

Louisville, KY, Mason, OH, Minneapolis, MN, Morristown, NJ,

St. Louis, MO, Virginia Beach, VA or Wallingford, CT office

The Business Information Consultant Senior is responsible for coordinating and consolidating various impact analyses for management reporting. Primary duties may include, but are not limited to:

  • Establishes, improves, and optimizes the consolidating processes for forecast and month-end results.

  • Consolidates and prepares executive summary reports for various business segments in the SBU for top management decision-making.

  • Analyzes and designs solutions to address varied and highly complex business needs.

  • May collaborate with businesses and technical areas to implement new or enhanced products.

  • May require strong knowledge of products as well as our internal business models and data systems.

  • May coordinate with external audits as appropriate. Acts as the central contact with internal departments and external auditors.

  • Works independently. Draws up a plan to address issues/concerns.

  • Works side by side with their manager

    Department-specific responsibilities:

  • Develop health outcomes reporting for new and existing clinical interventions

  • Manipulate, extract and automate extensive data sets

  • Apply classical and modern statistical inference and learning (i.e., linear regression, causal inference, time series, cross-sectional modeling, Markov modeling, clustering, etc.) for solving practical healthcare problems.

  • Occasionally develop data visualizations leveraging multiple internal and external data source using business intelligence/data visualization applications (i.e., Tableau, SAS Visual Analytics)


  • Requires a BS/BA degree in Statistics, Economics, or Business Administration;

  • 12+ years of relevant experience; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.

  • Experience providing leadership in evaluating financial performance of complex organizations required. Excellent leadership, problem solving, organizational, planning, presentation and interpersonal skills.

  • Experience with relational databases and knowledge of query tools and statistical software is required.

  • Possess the ability to manipulate and join large sets of data in memory-efficient ways.

  • Candidate must have strong analytical, organizational, presentation, and problem-solving skills.

  • Experience with SQL, Teradata, and or SAS.

  • The hired associate will have a strong understanding of medical data structures, including but not limited to (ICD10, GPI, NDC).

  • Knowledge of object-oriented JavaScript frameworks such as Angular, React, or Vue

  • Exposure to and knowledge of gold standard clinical care guidelines (HEDIS, PQA)

  • R and Python knowledge and experience strongly preferred.

  • This job is focused on identifying solutions to business problems and needs, very knowledgeable across products, more customer facing in recommending solutions, expert in data analysis, extremely independent, more interpretation of what is required by the business as compared to the Business Information Consultant job.
