IBM ArcGIS Solutions Architect in St Louis, Missouri


As an IBM Application Architect, you directly help clients transform their business and solve complex problems. You will define the scope and vision for projects that deliver customized solutions using your knowledge of IBM platforms. You are a technical leader, serving as a liaison among business partners, technical resources, and project stakeholders.

Your Role and Responsibilities

The Connected Solutions Consultant is responsible for defining client's business requirements and translating them into specific system, application or process designs. This includes working with client personnel and executives to identify functional requirements and subsequently working with and leading others in the identification, justification and design of the client's solution. This includes a wide range of design activities from requirements analysis through systems, application and/or process design specification. As a Connected Solutions Consultant, you will be expected to have hands-on technical and business skills of IBM's Intelligent, Connected Solutions and other competing or complementary IoT products and technologies and experience with successfully implementing IoT solutions, across multiple industries, particularly manufacturing.

We are currently seeking candidates who possess the skills and aptitude to work in a client and partner centric environment.

As a GIS Solution Architect, the successful candidate will be able to envision and architect a GIS-enabled solution solution integrated with an Intelligent Connected Operations (ICO)Solution that assists IBM customers and partners in unleashing the power of the software while demonstrating the value of Internet of Things in their enterprise environments. The role involves direct customer and or ecosystem partner engagement. The GIS Solution Architect is a recognized Subject Matter Expert for the ICO portfolio and can perform on-site or remote services consulting, as well as regular interaction with Product Management, Development, or other ICO organization internal team members as well as other IBM Business units.

The global Intelligent Connected Operations and Supply Chain practices across the globe, including Asset and Building Optimization. They will also develop integrated solutions with our Weather solution offerings. They will also interact with the IBM AI Applications organization, external partners and solution providers.

In this role you will interact directly with clients and are required to travel globally.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

  • 10 years’ experience in Information Technology, Engineering, or Data science disciplines

  • ESRI ArcGIS expert and at least 5 years of successful interaction with clients or technology vendors/manufacturers

  • Digital Twin expertise

  • A work history that demonstrates the ability to translate client needs into successful technology architectures and the ability to articulate those plans as solutions

  • Experience with a wide variety of contemporary technologies is required, including IOT, Cloud, connectivity, and storage technologies.

  • Experience with agile development methodology

  • Communication, negotiation, facilitation and collaboration skills are also required as we work with our customers and partners to progress opportunities that allow customers and partners to leverage and adopt IBM Intelligent Connected Operations solutions.

  • Experience with government, utilities, campuses or other distributed environments

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

  • Understanding of Red Hat Openshift, Web app development, Node.js + Javascript, RESTful service dev; analytics tools, such as Python, R or SPSS; database knowledge and concepts for app development methodology, including relational, NOSQL and time series databases, embedded Linux and sensor technologies, Cognos dashboard/visualization development, Networking and communication protocols, Wifi/LAN, WAN and cell networks, MQTT and CoAP, Mobile technologies inc application dev for iOs and or Android.

  • Maximo, Tririga or similar buidling or asset optimization solutions

  • Curious, quick-learner, collaborative, outcome-foused, high energy, emotionally intelligent, resilient
