Aircraft Maintenance - Technical Publications Writer - Immediate Positions in St. Louis, MO.
SSE is a St. Louis based technology company that designs and builds training, courseware and technical publications for military and commercial aviation programs. There are immediate opportunities for aircraft maintainers to assist in the design and development and revision of Technical Publications for tactical aircraft. Technical Publication Writers will follow formats and templates as required by a program and when required may develop appropriate document formats. Personnel selected will work under moderate supervision in a collaborative, team environment. Essential Job Functions
Perform the duties of technical publications writer on one or more Aerospace programs, to write, design, and document to specification guidelines.
Edit scripts, storyboards, and select and edit supporting graphic content.
Review and ensure quality, technical correctness and instructional soundness of draft and final documents.
Participate in all phases of project execution (Analysis, Design, Development).
General Skills and Experience Desired:
Military background as maintainer of modern tactical aircraft (Fighter experience preferred).
Ability to work well within a collaborative team environment.
Ability to work independently and ensure performance to deadlines and milestones.
Strong verbal and written communication skills and demonstrated ability to effectively deliver a complex message, either written or verbal.
Knowledge of the following productivity software is desired: MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook.
Knowledge of the following productivity software is a plus: Adobe Photoshop/Illustrator
- Associate?s degree or higher.
Aircraft maintenance knowledge and experience
Experience in writing, editing and typing of reports, studies, and presentation materials of technical subject matter.
Experience in interpreting technical documentation standards and experience writing within such standards.
Experience in proofreading documents and ensuring accuracy in spelling and grammar.
