LMI Aerospace Quality Systems Manager in St. Charles, Missouri

POSITION SUMMARY

The Quality Systems Manager is responsible for the management, implementation and monitoring of the overall quality management system and associated processes for LMI Enterprise which consists of sixteen sites. At a summary level, these responsibilities will cover the maintenance and revisions of the quality manual and standardize procedures, quality systems approvals, internal and external audit, customer & FAA liaison, and system wide corrective and preventive action. While performing all duties and responsibilities, the Manager will always, model LMI values and principles and act in a manner consistent with the LMI Code of Business Conduct and Ethics. The Quality System Manager reports to the Sr. Director of Quality

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage a diverse staff of quality personnel in the implementation of the Corporate Quality function for LMI

  • Work with Plant Quality Managers on QMS related activities and develop action plans for all compliance implementation related to the AS9100 Aerospace Standard

  • Oversee the control, distribution, update and management of the quality manual and associated quality procedures

  • Implement and sustain process maturity matrix to assess the strength of 20 identified processes

  • Conduct activities associated with the Central function for all site AS-9100 Site certifications

  • Key contact for third party registrar for the LMI enterprise and OASIS administrator

  • Manage and schedule LMI internal, external quality and special process audits. Conduct audit findings reviews with customers and regulatory agencies

  • Provide system administration for the electronic Quality Management System

  • Act as liaison between LMI, customer and regulatory agencies (FAA & DoD) dealing with LMI Quality Systems

  • Manage and monitor system wide corrective action and preventive action system (CAPA) including risk management, customer escapes and internal audit findings.

  • Lead Quarterly Management review with LMI Executive Management

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCES

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business or Engineering or the equivalent combination of education, training and experience

  • Five to seven (5-7) years of related manufacturing experience or the equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Specific knowledge and experience with AS9100 required.

Skills Required:

  • Direct management experience with QS-9100 Quality Systems

  • Working Knowledge of AS9102 (FAI) AS-9145 (APQP) and AS9146 (FOD)

  • Internal and external audit management with measurable KPI” s

  • Development of Quality Program Plans for communication of quality contractual requirements and customer communication

  • Experience in manufacturing; specifically, sheet metal and machined components and assemblies

  • Ability to read and interpret technical information such as blueprints, engineering drawings, models and customer specifications

  • Hands-on knowledge of NADCAP special processes and approval methods

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Visio and SharePoint

Travel Requirements: Indicate travel requirements and location.

Able to travel 20% of time to LMI sites, conferences and Customers
