Two years vocational, technical and/or on-the job training in installation and configuration of physical security systems (access control and video surveillance) or low voltage electronics with an emphasis in access control and surveillance will be considered lieu of degree. Training must include current techniques in physical security installation, maintenance and troubleshooting.Minimum of two years recent progressive experience with IP-based physical security hardware and software is required. Experience with Genetec and/or Lenel is preferred. Experience working within regulated environments including utilities, healthcare and banks preferred.LICENSING/CERTIFICATION:Certification in Genetec and/or Lenel is preferred. Ability to obtain within two years certifications in Genetec and/or Lenel is required. Other industry specific certifications and/or training is preferred. Must have a valid Driver's License (minimum Class F).DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESUnder the general direction of the Manager-Physical Security, this position will be the primary on installs, support, modifications, repairs and maintenance for City Utilities' hardware and software access control/surveillance/e-cylinder systems, and other security equipment necessary to accommodate City Utilities' operational and regulatory needs and objectives. Responsible for overview and inspection of contract and vendor supplied services as required. Serves as backup system administrator, troubleshooter, and trainer for the integrated security system to ensure 24/7 availability. Ensures that both the NERC/FERC regulated, and corporate access control systems are operating within required specifications. Performs monthly/quarterly/annual testing/documentation required for compliance including reviewing alarms and logs. Serves as systems administrator to our access control and surveillance systems and is responsible for executing changes, modifications and maintenance to all access control/surveillance/e-cylinder systems and services (including the review and implementation of patches and updates). Installs, repairs, and maintains access control/surveillance/e-cylinder systems and services including all ancillary equipment such as, but not limited to door hardware, wiring, readers, controllers, locks, cameras and POE's. Manages subcontractors in the installation of intrusion detection, intercom, access control, network video surveillance, and data communication systems. Builds and updates all installation plans and project specifications. Assists in site surveys and the development of cost estimates associated with procuring equipment and the installation of materials. Responsible for executing changes, modifications and maintenance to all access control/surveillance/e-cylinder systems and services. Assists System Engineers with installation plans. Serves as backup system administrator to the Manager - Physical Security; which will include system configuring, implementation of system standards, verification of system restoration and implementation of patches and updates. Assists in site surveys and the development of cost estimates associated with procuring equipment and the installation of materials. Analyzes, identifies and resolves communication, hardware related problems and low voltage issues. Inspects, oversees, and monitors contract services and vendors when required. Consults with vendor and manufacturer's technical staff to resolve access control/surveillance/e-cylinder equipment problems. May evaluate end-user requests to determine their impact on operational readiness relating to hardware and software utilization, or system functionality.
