Great Southern Bank Security Specialist I in Springfield, Missouri

GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF POSITION

Following established policies and procedures, as well as all applicable banking laws and regulations, including BSA and AML, is responsible for assisting with the maintenance of the bank's security programs, policies, and procedures. Conducts internal investigations, audits, security equipment installations, and archives sensitive information. Keeps the Security Supervisor informed concerning developments in his/her area of responsibility.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Assists in conducting internal investigation, giving recommendations of disposition of investigations i.e. crimes committed against the institution. Monitors "Unallocated Cash Offages" and reports findings to the Security Supervisor as well as Manager of Security. This duty is performed daily, about 25% of the time.

  2. Assists in completing yearly security audits of all banking center locations ensuring that banking centers are implementing all policies and procedures. Reports all finding to Security Supervisor, as well as Manager of Security and Operations departments. This duty is performed weekly, about 20% of the time.

  3. Assists the Security Manager in preparing, recommending, and implementing security programs ensuring the protection of the bank's assets and the safety of the bank's personnel. Assists in maintaining awareness and compliance of federal and state law(s) relating to security investigations. This duty is performed weekly, about 15% of the time.

  4. Provides wiring/cabling of security equipment for new installations, moves, changes, and troubleshooting problems at all banking center and subsidiary locations. May require training users on use, procedures, and/or new security systems. This duty is performed monthly, about 10% of the time.

  5. Maintains, repairs, and replaces security systems for all banking centers and users. Arranges for repair by third parties as necessary, assists with the maintenance of warranty information on equipment, and uses blueprints in order to assist with repairs, troubleshooting, or to report temporary repairs. This duty is performed monthly, about 10% of the time.

  6. Responsible for providing ongoing assistance to banking centers and subsidiaries by phone and/or in person to address technical problems. This duty is performed daily, about 10% of the time.

  7. Assists in daily operations of all office duties including answering phones, faxes, opening mail, etc. This duty is performed daily, about 10% of the time.

  8. Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

High school or GED, plus specialized schooling and/or on the job education in a specific skill area; e.g. data processing, clerical/administrative, equipment operation, etc, plus 7 to 11 months related experience and/or training. Or equivalent combination of education and experience.
