Great Southern Bank Developer I in Springfield, Missouri

Responsible for working with end users and IT staff to analyze, design, program and implement systems or procedures to solve routine business problems. Evaluates the interrelationships of newly designed or modified programs to determine how changes will affect other related areas. Tests newly designed or modified programs, verifies logic, performs necessary debugging and writes all relevant documentation. Follows all applicable banking laws and regulations, including BSA and AML, and ensures compliance within area of responsibility. Regularly updates the Development Supervisor regarding all ongoing projects and issues affecting his/her areas of responsibility.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Responsible for successfully designing program solutions or modifying existing solutions to solve targeted business problems, including problem analysis, program development, logic verification, debugging, development of relevant documentation, implementation and user training. This duty is performed daily, about 50% of the time.

  2. Manages the program design/modification process to ensure open communication between all parties involved in or affected by the project. This duty is performed daily, about 20% of the time.

  3. Works with IT staff to evaluate and document the interrelationship of proposed applications or program modifications with other systems/applications. This duty is performed daily, about 10% of the time.

  4. Ensures assigned projects meet deadlines, user expectations and design specifications. This duty is performed daily, about 10% of the time.

  5. Prepares and provides regular project update reports to the Development Supervisor. This duty is performed as needed, about 10% of the time.

  6. Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Broad knowledge of such fields as accounting, marketing, business administration, finance, etc. Equivalent to a four year college degree, plus 2 years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

REQUIRED CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer and a valid motor vehicle license and/or the ability to travel to all user locations on a regular basis is required.

USE OF MACHINES, EQUIPMENT AND/OR COMPUTERS: Computer software programming, level II technician support, project management; system analyst and comprehensive computer software support/help and/or web site development and connectivity.

PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES: While performing the functions of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, talk or hear; and occasionally required to stand, walk, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision; distance vision; and color vision.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Strong knowledge of .NET framework, proficient in C# or VB.Net, with a good knowledge of their ecosystems, strong understanding of object-oriented programming, familiar with various design and architectural patterns, proficient with Microsoft SQL Server, experience creating database schemas that represent and support business processes, and experience with popular web application frameworks.
