The Software Engineering position presents an exciting opportunity to join the Legal Technology team. The Legal Technology Business Intelligence / Reporting Lead Software Engineer provides a critical leadership function in serving the Wells Fargo Legal department to develop critical business analytics reporting. The reporting and analytics developed in this role will help drive critical business function decisions for the Legal Department and used by senior leadership, Attorneys, Paralegals. Provide technical leadership as well as develop and support Tableau dashboards and Cognos end user reporting.

Job Duties Include but not limited to the following:

  • Expert technical engineering resource to agile team in the report development, testing, and implementation process

  • Analyzes business requirements, designs and writes functional and technical specifications to develop creative reporting solutions

  • Performs data analysis on existing data model and external data feeds

  • Work as part of Agile Scrum team to support requirements definition and solution development

  • Works with business analysts, scrum teams and product owners for requirements and tasks

  • Develops system documentation, departmental technical procedures and user guides

  • Assures quality, security and compliance requirements are met for supported area and supports creation of or updates to and testing of the business continuation plan

  • Works with Infrastructure Engineers and System Administrators as appropriate in provisioning infrastructure to support key initiatives

  • Works with Vendor and Platform Engineering to troubleshoot problems and optimize reporting platform performance

  • Provides support that will entail initial issue triage and troubleshooting, root cause determination, and the development of short and long term technical and/or process solutions

  • Works with DBAs in Enterprise Database Management group to troubleshoot problems and optimize report and query performance

  • Leverage knowledge of industry trends to build best in class reporting to provide competitive advantage.

The position ideally will be filled within one of the posted address locations, however; if talent’s unavailable we may consider other Wells Fargo major hub locations.

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of software engineering experience

  • 5+ years of business intelligence experience

  • 3+ years of data management experience including data modeling, data integrity and data quality

  • 1+ year of Agile experience

Desired Qualifications:

  • An industry-standard technology certification

  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills

  • 5+ years of Cognos experience

  • 2+ years of Tableau experience

  • 5+ years of MS SQL server experience

  • 1 + years of Confluence WikiD experience

  • 1+ year of JIRA experience

  • Strong analytical skills including analyzing complex data

  • Ability to lead during times of ambiguity and change

  • Ability to motivate a team and lead strategic initiatives, collaborating across a large organization and multi-tasking as required

  • Leadership skills including; coaching, training, and mentoring

  • Ability to work effectively in virtual environment where key team members and partners are in various time zones and locations

  • Ability to be flexible and adjust plans quickly to meet changing business needs

  • ETL, data warehouse and data analytics delivery experience on internal or external cloud platforms

  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
