AECOM Operator I, Traffic Monitoring in Saint Louis, Missouri

AECOM is seeking a Control Room Operator for employment in the St. Louis, MO office. Position will report to the St. Louis, MO office, but will physically be working at the client site at 14301 South Outer Forty Rd., Chesterfield, MO 63017. Please note, there is limited public transportation available to this site.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
Provides information to the traveling public related to current travel conditions, maintains traffic interruption reports and manages incidents on the metropolitan roadways from the Control Room.
Assesses large volumes of data (both static and real-time) from a wide variety of sources to detect possible roadway incidents.
Monitors the Advanced Transportation Management System software, checks road sensor data and confirms the data using CCTV video.
Maintains telephone or radio communications with first responders, field technicians, 911 Operators and public service agencies. Once assessment is complete, determines the facts and severity of traffic incidents and prepares the information for dissemination to the motoring public.
Responsible for the maintenance, quality, accuracy and timeliness of all information disseminated, including Dynamic Message Signs, Changeable Message Signs, public traveler information websites and internal notifications.
Monitors First Responder agencies and various communication channels to assess traffic conditions.
Activates appropriate response(s) to detected and/or reported incidents; includes dispatch of first responders and location assistance to active event scenes.
High School diploma or equivalent
Thorough knowledge of the local roadway system
Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office tools
Previous experience using ATMS (Automated Traffic Management System) Software Suite
Ability to work a variety of shifts
Due to nature of the work U.S Citizenship is required
2+years of experience in a call center, dispatch center, or control room environment or two years of college education
Associates degree in related field or equivalent mix of education and practical experience
Self-motivated and excellent at multi-tasking
Ability to perform well under pressure in a fast paced environment
An intimate knowledge of state roadways, including their alternate names, the jurisdiction they are located, where the jurisdiction changes and alternate routes when available
National Incident Management System, ICS 100 and ICS 700 Certificates
Previous experience as a transportation Traffic Management Center Operator
