The Boeing Company Mid-Level Network Designer in Saint Louis, Missouri
Our Boeing Corporate Information and Analytics group is seeking a Midlevel Network Designer in St. Louis, Missouri.
Identifies, analyzes and documents requirements for both classified and unclassified network transport technologies and services (e.g., voice, video, data, wireless, cable, wire) based on customer goals, objectives, cost and security constraints, to provide input into the design process.
Creates and documents designs based on detail analysis of customer requirements and architectural and security guidelines, such as NIST 800, ICD503, and DISA STIGs.
Evaluates if standard design template is appropriate or develops appropriate design solution.
Deploys and implements packages based on installation standards guidelines. Tests and validates implemented solution works to design specification.
Evaluates implemented solution and makes changes based on customer usability.
Uses network analysis and monitoring tools to test, evaluate and perform high-level problem resolution to meet service restoration and network availability and reliability objectives.
Knowledge: Completely understands and applies job practices, techniques, standards, principles, theories, and concepts. Possesses general knowledge of other related disciplines.
Problem Solving: Provides technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems. Develops solutions that are imaginative, thorough, practicable, and consistent with organization objectives.

Typical Education / Experience
Technical bachelor's degree and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or a Master's degree with typically 3 or more years' or a PhD degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience. A technical degree is defined as any four year degree, or greater, in a mathematic, scientific or information technology field of study.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills and Experience)
This position requires an active Secret U.S. Security Clearance. (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active.
Experience with Cisco switching routing and firewall hardware and common network concepts such as LAN/WAN perimeter, IPSec, routing/switching, packet filtering, IDS/IPS, authentication, cabling, and troubleshooting.
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills and Experience)
Hold CCNA or CCNP Certification
Experience with Palo Alto
Experience working in proprietary areas and installing/supporting Government Type-1 encryption hardware, I.E. KG175D, KG175G.
