Consumer and Small Business Banking (CSBB) provides financial services to 21 million retail bank households and three million small business customers through approximately 5,000 retail branches, 17 contact centers, and 13,000 ATMs in 36 states and the District of Columbia. Consumer Marketing provides marketing support for the CSBB businesses and the Marketing Centers of Excellence (COE) support for marketing needs across the enterprise.

Within Marketing, this role is part of the Marketing Sciences organization. Marketing Sciences is a multidisciplinary field focused on supporting Marketing. Marketing Sciences' role is to solve problems by designing solutions, extracting knowledge and deriving insights from data to enable fact-based decision making.

The team brings accountability to the Marketing organization by empirically estimating the incremental contributions of Marketing to the business and the performance of each campaign and marketing initiatives. Its charter also includes providing guidance to the organization as to the optimal levels of program investments and allocations across businesses, marketing channels, sales channels, audiences and time to achieve forecast sales goals. To that end, the team is charged with developing and maintaining all the Marketing Mix Modeling, Multi-touch Attribution, Test and Control Models, Audience, Targeting Models, Opportunity Sizing, Sales Planning and Forecasting as well as Numerical Optimization Tools that provide the backbone of past Marketing performance measurements and future investment optimizations. All while reducing risk and driving operational efficiencies:

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

• Serve as a thought and team leader and subject matter expert on marketing testing including A/B and Matched-Market tests to solve complex marketing problems and extract critical insights to identify growth and risk opportunities for Wells Fargo.

• Develop a vision and roadmap for the development of a widespread testing scope for the organization, inclusive of all marketing channels: Direct Mail, Digital, Mass Media (e.g., TV, Print, OOH), non-traditional channels (e.g. Sponsorships, Meetings & Events)

• Establish best-in-class, standardized approaches for testing across Wells Fargo. Design and execute tests for the organization, working collaborative with different Marketing disciplines and leaders

• Develop project plans and timelines to support modeling related activities, such as data preparation and validation, model development and validation, model documentation, model performance tracking, and work with model governance to obtain necessary approvals from Corporate Model Risk and Legal and Compliance.

• Develop collaborative partnerships with marketing partners to establish mutual objectives, priorities, and measures of success and leverage strong influencing skills to effectively communicate insights and recommendations.

• Lead team with integrity and create an environment where your employees feel included, valued, and supported to do work that energizes them.

• Accomplish management responsibilities which include sourcing and hiring talented employees, providing ongoing coaching and feedback, recognizing and developing employees, identifying and managing risks, and completing daily management tasks.

Salary range is determined by the location of the job

CA-SF-Financial District: Min: $126,000 Mid: $180,000 Max: $234,000

CA-Concord: Min: $126,000 Mid: $180,000 Max: $234,000

NC-Charlotte: Min: $105,000 Mid: $150,000 Max: $195,000

MN-Minneapolis: Min: $105,000 Mid: $150,000 Max: $195,000

IA-Des Moines: Min: $105,000 Mid: $150,000 Max: $195,000

MO-Saint Louis: Min: $105,000 Mid: $150,000 Max: $195,000

NJ-North Brunswick: Min: $126,000 Mid: $180,000 Max: $234,000

May be considered for a discretionary bonus, Restricted Share Rights or other long-term incentive awards

Required Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience in one or a combination of the following: reporting, analytics, or modeling

  • 4+ years of management experience

  • 3+ years of experience with SAS or SQL, or other data management, reporting and query tools

Desired Qualifications

  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and across all organizational levels, where flexibility, collaboration, and adaptability are important

  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills

Other Desired Qualifications

  • 3+ years of combined background in technical marketing analytic solutions

  • 2+ years of experience in Banking and Financial Services industry

  • Proven record of experimental design applied to marketing, including Randomized, Randomized Block, and Full/Fractional Factorial designs

  • Experience with both individual level A/B exposure tests and aggregated media matched-market tests

  • Well established record of application of Sensitivity Analysis, ANOVA, ANCOVA and GLM approaches to marketing tests, as well as geographic and individual matching algorithms

  • Project management experience (i.e. developing roadmap of upcoming project initiatives and establishing project timeline)

  • Demonstrated ability to play a leadership role in large, complex analytical projects

  • Strong sense of ownership, relentless curiosity, and self-driven approach to problem solving

Job Expectations

  • Ability to travel up to 10% of the time
