How will you make an impact?
This newly created role will have partnership with the Global Biologics and Viral Vector Services functions within Pharma Services within Thermo Fisher Scientific. The position will cultivate and support long term partnerships and programs with academic and industry leaders that will support the long term talent needs of the organization that aligns with the growth model. The primary focus for this role will be to develop and implement strategies with academic and industry leaders that bridges talent needs with targeted key colleges and HBCUs to build early talent pipeline as well as create program to pro-actively educate, attract and hire collegiate talent. In addition, proactively research, mine and lead efforts in understanding the BIO and VVS competitive landscape to ensure TA strategy is aligned to market dynamics.
What will you do?
Partner with the business to identify key critical capability areas that require pipeline talent, develop robust strategies to grow this talent internally and recruit this talent via early/mid-level talent platforms.
Conduct market research to understand where this talent lies as well as where the opportunities are to engage and attract these candidates.
Partner with managers, functional business leaders, and executive sponsors by conducting regular stakeholder meetings and communicating relevant metric analysis to identify opportunities for continuous improvement for the program.
Build relationships with key internal stakeholders, key competitors, communities, universities, colleges and technical institutions to execute on the long-term strategies surrounding the key workforce needs with a specific focus on diversity and inclusion, and collegiate programs.
Partner with the business leaders, Site Human Resource professionals and University Relations COE to create and manage robust development, rotational, internship and co-op programs to meet the short and long term needs of the sites for early and mid-level talent.
Build annual schedules of activities and align resources to the ongoing engagement activities.
Ensure universities and students have seamless experience with Thermo Fisher throughout any recruitment and onboarding process.
Partners and aligns with internal platform resources including Branding, University Relations, Communications and Recruiters to support Talent Acquisition activities at the site level.
Partner with the Talent Acquisition organization to create and externally communicate unique internal/external branding and employee engagement activities. This includes social media outreach, on-site campus engagement, and candidate pipeline communications.
Support business leaders in developing robust quality GLDP project submissions and support and maintain relationships with the GLDP assignees as needed
How will you get here?
Bachelor's degree in a related business field preferred, Bachelor's degree required.
Six (6) or more years of relevant experience including talent acquisition/university recruiting experience, with at least two (2) years leading talent acquisition, university recruiting or HR teams; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.
Experience creating and managing robust development, rotational, internship and co-op programs is a must.
Experience creating recruiting strategies such as process improvement strategic sourcing, diversity initiatives, etc. required.
In-depth knowledge of the recruiting landscape in the pharmaceutical, life science, or biotechnology industry preferred.
Experience in developing strong relationships with university representatives and student programs preferred.
