Position Responsibilities: Position responsibilities include:

  • Participate in full time company sponsored employee development program.

  • Manage employees’ performing activities as part of development programs.

  • Develop and execute project and process plans, implements policies and procedures, and sets operational goals.

  • Acquire resources for projects and processes, provides technical management of suppliers and leads process improvements.

  • Develop and maintain relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners and direct reports.

  • Provide oversight and approval of technical approaches, products and processes.

  • Manage, develop, and motivate employees.

    Representative Major Tasks (Reflects typical job family activities. Specific activities may vary by Business Unit, region, site or assignment):

  • Apply in-depth understanding of budget management principles and practices to develop and administer project or operating budgets. Ensure work statement is completed on schedule and budget.

  • Develop project or operational plans aligned to department's objectives. Implement plans to ensure business, technical and customer requirements are achieved. Assign authority and responsibilities to employees to execute the plan. Review plans' execution, make appropriate adjustments, and resolve issues. Monitor appropriate metrics to ensure performance to plan.

  • Coach, counsel, mentor, and provide developmental opportunities and job assignments to enhance employee performance and expand capabilities. Provide on-going developmental feedback. Recognize contributions of individuals and teams to improve employee satisfaction and retain a skilled and motivated workforce.

  • Systematically evaluate proper job classification of employees, set employee goals and objectives, manage and evaluate performance to plan on a reoccurring basis. Assign employee salaries based on employee value and Boeing guidelines to provide a fair and equitable work environment.

  • Convey organizational messages to facilitate the accomplishment of workgroup, project or process goals. Proactively communicate with employees, peers (e.g., fellow first-level managers) and customers. Keep others informed by communicating project status, conducting and participating in team meetings, providing presentations and listening to employee concerns and suggestions. Communicate policies and directives to enhance employee awareness of expectations.

  • Implement policies, procedures and documents to ensure consistent execution of processes within workgroup in support of Boeing and regulatory requirements. Enforce company rules and policies regarding ethical behavior, safety, security, use of company property, time charging, etc.

  • Convey organizational messages to facilitate the accomplishment of workgroup, project or process goals. Proactively communicate with employees, peers (e.g., fellow first-level managers) and customers. Keep others informed by communicating project status, conducting and participating in team meetings, providing presentations and listening to employee concerns and suggestions. Communicate policies and directives to enhance employee awareness of expectations.

  • Establish partnerships and relationships with internal customers, stakeholders, peers and direct reports.

  • Identify opportunities to improve work-related products and processes within own workgroup, project or process. Engage and empower employees to make process improvements.

  • Provide technical direction and guidance to others regarding approved processes, tools, technology and skills for own projects or processes. Ensure workgroup products or processes meet customer, company, quality, industry and regulatory requirements. Provide approval of workgroup technical approaches, products and processes.

  • Forecast resource needs and obtain and manage personnel, facilities, services, equipment and tools to meet project and daily operating requirements. Acquire, deploy, and schedule personnel to meet project and operational objectives. Review, approve and implement facility, equipment and service plans to maximize productivity and ensure safety, security, environmental and regulatory compliance. Coordinate with providers to achieve timely delivery of resources.

  • Develop workgroup, project or operational goals, objectives and related metrics to ensure alignment with Company vision/strategy. Measure progress, making adjustments as needed. Hold direct reports accountable for achieving goals. Achieve goals for productivity, quality and customer satisfaction.

    Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Experience working on cross-functional teams.

  • Experience with problem solving.

  • Experience developing and executing business strategies.

  • Candidates must have held prior leadership positions with people and business unit leadership responsibilities.

  • Must be currently enrolled in the Leaders for Global Operations Graduate Degree Program at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) or the Tauber Institute for Global Operations at the University of Michigan.

    Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Manufacturing or Production leadership experience.

  • Airplane operations experience.

  • Prior Boeing experience.

  • Knowledge of the Boeing Production System.

  • Excellent communication skills.

  • Manufacturing focused MBA.
