IT Business Analyst – Saint Louis, MO
Under general supervision, performs analysis and administrative tasks for various IT projects as part of a software development team. This includes meeting with business clients, requirements gathering, problem analysis, story creation and maintenance, testing, documentation, and training. Works as part of a diverse and dynamic team creating internal and guest-facing applications, backend processes, databases, and visualizations which includes both new development and maintenance of existing legacy systems.
Participate in software development projects from initiation through delivery.
Cultivate strong relationships between the development team and other business units.
Partner with IT resources and internal business partners to determine project requirements and obtain sign off.
Participate in sprint planning and keep team on track by helping to groom the backlog and prep upcoming work.
Ensure developed solutions meet customer needs and are delivered on time.
Perform testing to ensure functionality of developed systems before being released.
Document software, database systems, and processes.
Maintain the team Confluence site by keeping all documentation and sprint calendars up to date.
Train application users on the proper use of developed software and database systems.
Become the go-to person and resident expert on internally developed systems.
Bachelor’s degree in a closely related field required.
Minimum of 3 years of related experience; 5+ years of related experience preferred in business. analysis, technical writing, or closely related area.
Experience in Jira and Confluence preferred but not required.
Knowledge of Agile methodologies and principles preferred.
Excellent relationship building and problem-solving skills.
Strong communication skills, both written and oral.
Ability to handle multiple tasks and projects simultaneously while maintaining high quality.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Ability to think critically and rapidly learn new tools as needed.
Positive, enthusiastic attitude and strong desire to build a cohesive and collaborative team.
Strong sense of ownership, urgency, and drive to complete assigned tasks.
