Kforce Data Engineer in Saint Louis, Missouri

Kforce has a client seeking a Data Engineer in Saint Louis, MO.Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with project managers, business analysts, architects, and other team members as part of a matrixed project team to design, develop, and deploy critical business intelligence solutions

  • Develop understanding of relevant business processes, goals and strategy

  • Translate business needs to technical specifications

  • Design, customize, develop and test BI solutions

  • Optimize solutions with a focus on usability, performance, flexibility, testability, and standardization

  • Integrate data from various sources including internal and external

  • Demonstrate commitment to software development best practices, including documentation, reusable code design, test driven implementation and integrated software testing.

  • Document and demonstrate each solution by producing documentation, flowcharts, layouts, diagrams, charts, code comments and clear code

  • Prepare and deploy solutions by determining and designing system specifications, standards, and programming

  • Track and correct defects by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing development and service issues.

  • Validate solution results against requirements for consistency and accuracy

  • Troubleshoot and analyze data inconsistencies and performance related issues

  • Take initiative for identifying process improvements and application enhancements

  • Develop standard operating procedures for business user utilizing BI and analytics platforms

  • Identify standards for data governance, data life-cycle, master data management (MDM) and data cataloging.

  • BS/BA degree in Computer Science, MIS or relevant field

  • Strong analytical, organizational, presentation, and problem-solving skills.

  • Experience with BI technologies such as Power BI a plus

  • Understanding of database management systems and ETL framework

  • Experience in SQL skills with hands on Experience in SQL Server

  • Strong knowledge of software development best practices

  • Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills required

  • Ability to adapt quickly to an existing, complex environment

  • Ability to take initiative, handle multiple tasks, shift priorities and meet deadlines

  • Ability to quickly learn new concepts and software as necessary, with little oversight
