The Tax Reporting and Cost Basis Business Liaison Consultant 3 will work across the Group and with various vendors to plan and execute tax season. This individual will provide thought leadership to process and service managers in the Tax Reporting and Cost Basis Group.

The* Tax Reporting and Cost Basis Group* is responsible for reporting of various income, cost basis, trading and other pertinent tax data to clients, the IRS and various state revenue agencies. The scope of responsibilities for this role includes, but is not limited to, the following:

  • Regularly liaises with key business partners both inside and external to the organization, providing subject matter expertise on a variety of assigned and ongoing complex business operations (that are managed by others) to ensure success in meeting business goals and objectives.

  • Ensures effective integration/timing of change initiatives related to assigned business operations and related technology solutions.

  • Influences technology or innovation opportunities on behalf of line of business or group. Participates on projects as needed.

  • Leads and participates in performance monitoring reviews.

Required Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of experience in one or a combination of the following: business operations, implementation, or strategic planning; or 4+ years of legal experience which includes the review, evaluation and response to agency, law firm, or regulatory inquiries

Desired Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of financial services experience

  • Brokerage operations experience

  • Project management experience

  • Ability to develop partnerships and collaborate with other business and functional areas

  • Ability to manage issue cases with vendors

  • Ability to manage tactical or strategic initiatives

  • Ability to navigate complex business relationships

  • Ability to provide independent summaries and recommendations on operational data

  • Ability to strategically analyze data and diagnose opportunities and interventions

  • Ability to translate and summarize complex data into understandable, actionable information and recommendations

  • Highly refined and professional verbal and written communications

  • Knowledge and understanding of operational workflows process

  • Strong analytical skills with ability to turn findings into executable plans to meet business objectives

  • Leadership experience

  • Experience managing and maintaining vendor provided services
