Job Description & Qualifications
The Application Systems Analyst role is to maintain Core and Main’s applications while working closely with the end users to maintain system integrity and maximize the functionality of the system. Apply proven communication, analytical and problem-solving skills to help identify and resolve application issues. Install and configure software to offer enhancements to new and existing Core and Main applications and determine the best way to modify configurations of the software to meet the company’s needs.
The Application Support Analyst is responsible for support, maintenance and upgrades to applications used and provided by the application development organization. This position reviews and updates all maintenance and application work orders and plans for yearly upgrades and maintenance. This position works closely with the IT help desk and business units to provide service and support. The Application Support Analyst gives guidance and provides the line of support on applications needing full assistance.
Major Tasks, Responsibilities and Key Accountabilities

Has the ability to understand complex business requirements and to develop creative solutions to business problems
Must be able to quickly assess system issues and coordinate and partner across the business and IT in order to trouble-shoot and resolve system issues.
Maintains given metrics for support controls and processes.
Provide knowledge base that can be shared with the IT help desk and/or Systems Teams
Assist with overall maintenance scheduling and work with help desk to filter appropriate calls to support.
Provide technical experience to help desk staff.
Work closely with business and other teams to assist in the overall definition of support items and provide quick assistance to meet SLAs.
Responsible for maintain ticketing queue for assignments, and is held accountable for the overall accuracy of the documentation of trouble tickets and resolutions.
Responsible for knowledge base transfers to all other support staff and the help desk as required.
Monitor and provide overall KPIs to senior management.
Work within software development plans/schedules, providing technical updates and overall plans for better support of our product suite.
Ensure adherence to architecture standards, use of standard templates and practices to ensure repeatable processes in the Application Support arena.
Engage in hands-on, in-depth analysis, review, and implementation of applications built and supported.
Provide preventative maintenance to application databases and logs
Assist application owners with documenting and organizing reusable test scripts to be used when performing configuration changes and upgrades.
Work with Information Technology team members to develop and maintain application support documentation for the Core and Main suite of applications.
Work to support internal IT policies and procedures including Problem Management and Change Management programs.
Look for opportunities to improve internal processes, and implement measures to control risks within the business applications framework
Nature and Scope
Demonstrates skill in data analysis techniques by resolving missing/incomplete information and inconsistencies/anomalies in more complex research/data.
Nature of work requires increasing independence; receives guidance only on unusual, complex problems or issues. Work review typically involves periodic review of output by a supervisor and/or direct “customers” of the process.
May provide general guidance/direction to or train junior level support personnel or professional personnel.
Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.
Typically requires overnight travel 5% to 20% of the time.
Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.

Education and Experience
- Typically requires BS/BA in a related discipline. Generally 2-5 years of experience in a related field; certification is required in some areas OR MS/MA and generally 2-4 years of experience in a related field. Certification is required in some areas.

BA/BS in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or higher.
Minimum of 3 years in Application Support role.
Minimum of 2 years in Software Development and Engineering required.
Windows/.Net design/development and MS Framework development
Apache/Tomcat and IIS
Databases: Oracle and SQL Server 2008 and above including SSIS
Middleware: MS Framework 3.0 and 4.0, Integration methods to JBOSS, and others preferred.
Systems: Linux, Windows preferred.
