SYSTEM TECHNICIAN IINFORMATION SYSTEMS DEPARTMENTStarting Salary: $39,466.89 per yearThis is a full-time, 40 hour per week position which includes a full range of benefits including Paid Time Off, Extended Medical Leave, Holidays, Employee Health, Dental, Life, Disability, Retirement, and Tuition Assistance programs. JOB DESCRIPTION: The purpose of this position is to provide Tier 1 Level Help Desk support and monitor Information Systems; serve as the first-line response for user requests by assisting with general software and hardware questions while maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction; The work is performed under the supervision of the Technical Services Manager.Acts as first-line response to user telephone calls for assistance and log the calls received.Responsible for assisting users with general software and hardware questions, while maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction.Performs troubleshooting of hardware and software issues, diagnosis and maintenance of computers (desktops, laptops, and tablets), printers, scanners, desktop phones, and other computer hardware).Monitors master consoles that monitor the performance of computer systems and networks.Documents unresolved problems and/or user calls for assistance into the incident management system (or IT service management system).Assists with network administration and system maintenance.Performs workstation setup procedures.Installs software on computers.Maintains accurate hardware and software inventory.Performs hardware and software upgrades.Installs voice/data patch cabling.Works on-call as needed in a regular rotation with other technicians on the team.Manages print server and VPN utility.Works on special projects with other teams and departments.Uses imaging software to replicate images to target devices.Able to perform basic backup/restore tasks.Provides assistance with applications as required.Directs users to appropriate help for Information Systems problems.Provides Tier 1 Level Help Desk support.REQUIREMENTS:EducationAssociates degree and/or technical training in computer repair and maintenance.Job Experience0-1 year of experience.Must have experience performing computer repair and maintenance. Experience with local area networks, wide area networks, wireless networks, and technical operation of computers and tablets.Experience with an enterprise-class email system is desired.Knowledge, skills and abilitiesMust have knowledge and experience with internet browsers, email applications, Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Word, Excel, and other Office products.Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.A clear and comprehendible telephone voice is mandatory.Additional vocational/technical training in computer repair and maintenance is desired.Demonstrated soft skills.
