Senior Engineer, Software Engineering
The Shared Components and Security Solutions BizOps team is looking Sr BizOps Engineer for Global File Transfer (GFT) who can be key player in the team doing automation for BAU work, trouble shoot the issues with end customers by following best practices in Biz Ops.

For all team members:
Engage in and improve the whole lifecycle of servicesfrom inception and design, through deployment, operation and refinement.
Analyze ITSM activities of the platform and provide feedback loop to development teams on operational gaps or resiliency concerns
Support services before they go live through activities such as system design consulting, capacity planning and launch reviews.
Maintain services once they are live by measuring and monitoring availability, latency and overall system health.
Scale systems sustainably through mechanisms like automation, and evolve systems by pushing for changes that improve reliability and velocity.
Support the application CI/CD pipeline for promoting software into higher environments through validation and operational gating, and lead Mastercard in DevOps automation and best practices.
Practice sustainable incident response and blameless postmortems.
Take a holistic approach to problem solving, by connecting the dots during a production event thru the various technology stack that makes up the platform, to optimize mean time to recover
Work with a global team spread across tech hubs in multiple geographies and time zones
Share knowledge and mentor junior resources
Play a hybrid role of configuration and on call support role.
Understand the systems and able to setup users for using the system.
Has the a ability configure and troubleshoot infrastructure components, operating system features, integration software like web services and bulk file transfers products.
Successfully set up the environments and servers in challenging environment.
Manages application environments, applications, dependencies and left-to-right flow of service application changes and releases across lower environments, and produces documentation to support production implementations.
Understanding the needs and the long-term scalability, implement the best platform.
Automate monitoring, alerting and mundane tasks that are needed for long term maintainability.
Work with Infrastructure and monitoring teams to build a visibility into system health.
Build and implement zero-down-time deployment strategy.
Ability to troubleshoot errors with operating system, operational components, and integration points.
BS degree in Computer Science or related technical field involving coding (e.g., physics or mathematics), or equivalent practical experience.
Knowledge on Unix and Mainframes.
Knowledge of Manage File Transfer is a significant plus. The ability to troubleshoot network and certificate connectivity, including trust-chain validations. Familiar with security best practices for authentication and encryption.
Experience with algorithms, data structures, scripting, pipeline management, and software design.
Systematic problem-solving approach, coupled with strong communication skills and a sense of ownership and drive.
Full stack, deep network protocol understanding, and how various protocols (HTTP, Web Sockets, gRPC and TCP sockets, IP, UDP, DNS, TLS) play in the OSI model.
Ability to help debug and optimize code and automate routine tasks.
We support many different stakeholders. Experience in dealing with difficult situations and making decisions with a sense of urgency is needed.
Interest in designing, analyzing and troubleshooting large-scale distributed systems.
We need team members with an appetite for change and pushing the boundaries of what can be done with automation. Experience in working across development, operations, and product teams to prioritize needs and to build relationships is a must.
For work on our dev ops team, engineer with experience in industry standard CI/CD tools like Git/BitBucket, Jenkins, Maven, Artifactory, and Chef. Experience designing and implementing an effective and efficient CI/CD flow that gets code from dev to prod with high quality and minimal manual effort is required.
System support knowledge is needed, including ITIL & service management processes.
Strong knowledge on Jenkins and other CI/CD tools.
System Engineering. Strong Unix/Linux background.
Fluent in Chef, Puppet, Shell scripting, etc.
Working knowledge on Monitoring tools like SPLUNK.
Experience in one or more of the following is preferred: C, C++, Java, Python, Go, Perl or Ruby.
Understanding of principles of availability & consistency.
Experience with multiple persistence patterns and the ability to ensure high performance, scale and reliability configurations.
Has to ability to understand system performance and how it is impacted by the application, as well as how to tune the application containers.
