Manager, Software Engineering

As part of an exciting, fast paced environment developing authentication and security solutions in the mobile and e-commerce space, this position will provide Leadership within the development life cycle for new products and services.

Role

Lead and Manage Software Development scrum teams.

Manages and directs a team of about 10 to 12 software developers, systems analysts and quality engineers. Evaluates employee performance, sets expectations and goals for department and individual staff members, recruits, disciplines and trains staff.

Exercises independent judgment and discretion in overall project management by prioritizing, planning and tracking project progress.

Designs, develops and modifies programs and plans working closely with the business owners.

Researches software development options and provides analysis for product development direction.

Consults with internal departments to identify customer needs and include into project objectives. Provides support regarding software development to internal departments.

Creates related documentation.

This position manages employees and contractors and is responsible for the performance management and hiring of the employees and contractors.

Experience partnering with product and tech teams to develop new products and bring them to market successfully.

Experience with Agile development process.

Ability to drive results while being resourceful and tactful within a corporate environment.

Extensive experience evaluating complex strategic initiatives, facilitating, influencing and contributing to design and advancement.

Strong interpersonal and leadership skills to build credibility; team oriented, collaborative, and flexible.

Good presentation and documentation skills.

Excellent analytical and problem solving skills with an ability to identify key issues, structure analysis and synthesize data, and provide recommendations effectively.

Strong business acumen and ability to develop strategic points of view and facilitate discussion.

Non-mandatory but nice to have skills:

Java/J2EE based Applications and Web Services development experience.

Sound technical knowledge of Software development lifecycle including Databases, and infrastructure components.

Security Coding Techniques and practices.

Release Management and code branching strategies.

Experience with best practices for Software Development.
