North Kansas City Hospital VP CHIEF INFORMATION OFFICER - INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY SERVICE in North Kansas City, Missouri
SUMMARY: The Vice President, Chief Information Officer (CIO) serves as the organization's Information Technology (IT) Executive providing vision, leadership, strategic planning, management, and budget oversight for all information technology-related initiatives, activities and services for NKCH. The CIO oversees and manages all IT functions, including Infrastructure; Applications; BioMed/Clinical Engineering; Project Management; Help Desk/Support; Business Intelligence; and various shadow ITfunctions. The leader also oversees IT vendor management; technology education and training; business continuity and disaster recovery planning; and maintains awareness of industry requirements and innovations.
EXPERIENCE: Minimum of 10 years experience with deep and broad knowledge of general IT work required. Knowledge of healthcare clinical and business processes is strongly preferred. Minimum of 5 years experience as an IT Director of a hospital or similar healthcare environment strongly preferred; familiarity with large implementation and development projects preferred. Healthcare VP and/or CIO level leadership preferred.
SPECIAL SKILLS: Cerner Millennium and Lawson systems knowledge preferred.Knowledge and experience with acute healthcare delivery systems operations preferred. Effective verbal and written communication skills and effective presentation skills; proven team building and mentoring skills; proven skills in negotiating with vendors, contractors, and others; budget preparation and monitoring, planning and organizing, management and leadership also a plus.
OTHER: Community hospital or similar sized organization experience a plus.
EDUCATION: Required: Bachelors - Computer Science, Bachelors - Management Information Systems (MIS), Preferred: Masters - Related Field, Masters - Business Administration
